As Pastor Ed continues his teaching series entitled: Can you hear His voice, he'll be reminding us that God doesn't just speak to us through His Word, but He may speak to us through other believers. The Body of Christ is made up of all different kinds of people, with various spiritual gifts. It's God's desire that the Body function in such a way that we all are using our spiritual gifts to minister to one another. Don't neglect God's Word when it comes from another person, and pray for discernment.

Today, Pastor Ed will be encouraging us to pray for the Lord to give us ears to hear what He is saying to us on an individual basis. All throughout the Bible the Lord spoke to His people. He spoke to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, and He spoke to the seven Churches in the Book of Revelation. Just as the Lord encouraged, rebuked, and gave direction to the Saints within the pages of the Bible, so too, He is speaking to you! He speaks through His Word, but also through other people in your life.

Do you make reading and meditating on the Word of God a primary priority in your life? As a Christian, reading the Bible should be one of the main pillars that helps your grow more mature in your faith. Reading God's Word, having a good prayer life, and sharing your faith with others are the main pillars that keep a Christian standing. The Bible says that David would meditate on the Word of God day and night. When we meditate, we don't simply gloss over the Bible, but we take time to think it over.

As Pastor Ed continues his teaching series, he'll be exhorting us to spend more time in the Word of God. The Bible isn't just a book that helps us become better people, it's God's inspired Word that has power to transform us and mold us more into the image of Jesus. When you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit fills you and teaches you the Word of God. If you neglect reading the Bible, your basically saying that you know how to journey through life on your own without a road map.

As Pastor Ed continues his teaching series, he'll be encouraging us to trust the Lord with all our circumstances especially when it seems impossible to get through certain trials. Joseph for example, he was thrown into a pit by his brothers and sold into slavery. He had no idea that God would take what man intended for evil, and make those horrible situations turn around for his ultimate good. As we grow more mature in our walk with the Lord, we'll see God's faithfulness time and time again.

Have you ever heard the Lord speak to you? Maybe you haven't heard the Lord speak to you audibly, but as a child of God, the Lord will be speaking to your heart and mind. Today, Pastor Ed will be reminding us that God is always speaking through His Word, through our prayers, and through other believers. The question isn't: Is God speaking to you, the real question is: Are you listening to Him? If you haven't heard Him lately, perhaps you need to obey what He's already clearly said to you.

What causes you to fear? Today, Pastor Ed will be challenging us to only have a reverential fear of the Lord. When you have a healthy fear of God, you no longer fear man or any other circumstances. Having a fear of the Lord isn't having a terrible fear that He is going to crush you when you mess up. Having the fear of God is having reverence and awe of your Father in Heaven. God is a loving Father that will discipline His children, but you shouldn't have a terrifying fear of Him as His child.

As Pastor Ed continues his teaching series through the Book of Joshua, he'll be emphasizing the importance for us to know the Lord in an intimate and personal way. God doesn't care about vain religious ceremonies and traditions of man. The Lord desires that we grow in our knowledge of God, and that we serve Him out of our appreciation for what He's already done for us. When we obey the commands of God because we love Him, that's a genuine heart that's following after God.

As Pastor Ed continues his teaching through the Book of Joshua, he'll be reminding us that even though Caleb was old in years, he knew God kept him alive for a meaningful purpose. Do you believe God has you here for a purpose? And if so, are you obeying that calling God has placed on your life. God could have very well saved you from your sins and taken you home to be with Him, but He kept you here on Earth for a reason. Your called to preach the Gospel and to use the spiritual gifts He's given you.

Today, Pastor Ed will be encouraging us to follow the godly example of a man named Caleb. It is said of Caleb in the Book of Joshua that he “wholly followed the Lord”. What an amazing reputation to be known for, to be someone that whole heartedly and steadfastly followed God. As a Christian you are called to represent the character of Jesus to this world so that they would hear you out when you preach the gospel to them. What is your reputation among others? Can it be said of you that you wholly follow the Lord?
