Where do we find our security? Is it in God or in our possessions? Many people are deceived that if they just have a certain amount of money, the right house or a nice car then they will be satisfied. But that is a lie, only God can truly satisfy us. Don’t put your trust in money but in God alone. The greed of money will control you and cost you your life. Your identity should be found in God. Living not for the things of this world but to serve God by being a good steward of what He gives you.

Greed is always desiring more and never being satisfied. Our world tells us to get all that we can, but this is in direct contrast from what God tells us to do. God’s word tells us that it is better to give then to get. In today’s message, Pastor Ed will teach us that greed is a form of idolatry because it takes our worship away from God and places it on things. Greed will affect your relationship with God. So, you must choose what you value most in life, God or your possessions.

There is no room for pride in a believer’s life. It keeps us from having a teachable spirit and will isolate us from others. As a result, it will destroy a family and other relationships. Pastor Ed will remind us that God created us to live humbly in relationship with one other. We need each other, more importantly we need God. If you see signs of pridefulness in your life, don’t ignore them! Instead turn to God for only He can deliver you from pridefulness and give you humility instead.

Today Pastor Ed will warn us how pride effects our lives and has the ability to destroy us. We live in a world that promotes self, saying things like “do what is best for you.” Often times people confuse pride with having a healthy self-esteem. But it’s very important not to get the two mixed up. Pride becomes sinful when you’re lifting up yourself instead of God. Pride is sneaky and can creep into your life undetected. You have to constantly keep your heart in check and seek humility.

It cost God a great deal to take away our sins. And if we truly understand the great sacrifice of the Lamb of God and all that we’ve been saved from, then we will be able to confidently share the gospel with others. Today Pastor Ed will exhort us to keep our eyes on the Lord and have fellowship with Him because the best way to share Christ is to know Him personally. When you live this way others will see Christ living in you and your faith will be contagious.

The great commission is our missionary calling as believers. It’s what we are called to do. The focus must be on Jesus, not just a specific ministry. In today’s message Pastor Ed reminds us that being a witness for the Lord should be a way of life, not a planned event. It is our responsibility to preach the name of Jesus and to tell the world He is the only way to heaven. Don’t be distracted and miss the opportunities that God gives to you. When you seek Him first, sharing the gospel will come naturally.

As humans we’re prone to wander, so it’s a good thing that we have a Shepherd that is watching over us and has compassion on us when we stray. Pastor Ed will remind us today that there is no place too far or dark that God won’t rescue us from. He will come for us no matter what because He loves us. God will continuously pursues you. Once you’re in the care of the Good Shepherd stay close to Him and listen to His voice. There is no better place to be then with God as your Shepherd.

Contrary to all other religions, Christianity is not man seeking after God, but God seeking man. As believers we’ve often heard that God is our shepherd and we are His sheep. In today’s study, Pastor Ed teaches us that like sheep, we have a tendency to loose our way. We need the wisdom of God to help us through our lives. Left on our own we’ll be lost. So, look to the Lord your Shepherd who will guide you through your life. Trust that He will take care of you and give you all that you need.

As Pastor Ed continues his teaching series, he'll be exhorting us to live for eternity and not for the temporal. In our text today, we'll learn how the rich man only lived for himself and his temporal life instead of living for eternity and for God. Yet, we read how Lazarus lived for God and he was allowed into paradise. The Bible says that eternity is written on the hearts of man. We are eternal beings and we will live forever, the question is, where will you spend eternity?

One of the most misquoted scriptures you'll hear by people is: “ Money is the root of all evil”. The Bible doesn't say that money is the root of all evil, the Bible say's that the love of money is the root of all evil. If the Lord has blessed you with money and resources, He desires that you don't use these blessings only on yourself, but that you allow the Lord to bless others through you. The same goes for the spiritual gifts God has given you, and the time He has given you.
