Ancient Christian and Jewish theologians affirmed a literal one thousand year Kingdom of Christ that would come at the end of 6000 years of human history, corresponding to the Sabbath rest that God took after 6 days of Creation. In order to prepare the earth for His Kingdom, Christ removes Satan from having influence and binds him in the abyss for the duration of the Kingdom. But in the end, Satan will be loosed and will gather an army of rebels from the inhabitants of the earth to rise up against Christ, similar to what he is already doing in religious circles today.

Revelation 20 begins with a brief summary of the Millennial Kingdom in 6 or 7 verses. The primary fact emphasized in this passage is that the Millennial Kingdom is a physical kingdom on earth where Christ will reign for a literal one thousand years. But not everyone believes this because not everyone takes a literal approach to interpreting and understanding Scripture. Unfortunately, those who take a more allegorical approach to Scripture as a whole, leave the door wide open for an ideology based on relative truth.

The Second Coming of Christ will be the culmination of all of history as Jesus descends from heaven to conquer his enemies and establish His Millennial Kingdom on earth. The Apostle John gives us a vivid description of how our Lord will come in power and majesty in Revelation 19.

In Revelation 19, the Apostle John witnesses a heavenly praise service over the judgment of God upon Babylon. As that praise continues, honor is given to the Lord when His bride is displayed in white robes, and blessing is given to those invited to the Marriage Supper. By looking at the progression of events in the Ancient Jewish Wedding, we get a great picture of how all of these end-times events fit together for the church and other believers outside of the Church Age.
