In John 1:19-34, we see John the Baptist faithfully point others to Jesus, declaring Him to be the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. As John makes it clear that he is not the Messiah, he directs attention to the One who came to bring salvation. Through this passage, we’ll explore the identity of Jesus, the significance of His mission, and what it means to faithfully point others to Him.
In John 1:14–18, we see the wonder of Jesus Christ, the Word who became flesh and dwelt among us. Through Jesus, we see the glory of God, full of grace and truth. This passage reminds us that God did not remain distant from His people, but came near to us through His Son. As we study these verses, we’ll consider what it means to know God through Jesus and how His grace and truth shape the way we live and follow Him.
