What if you don't actually need to do more?
I've spent most of my life moving fast. Even now, well into my 40s, I still find myself tempted to measure my worth by how much I can accomplish in a day.
But lately, I've been asking myself some uncomfortable questions:
Why do I feel the need to be busy all the time?
Why is it so hard for me to rest?
Why does productivity make me feel valuable?
And most importantly, is all this doing actually helping me become the woman God wants me to be?
In this episode, I'm talking about what I'm learning about slowing down, living more intentionally, and finding contentment while still having big goals.
I'll share the concept from "The Gap and The Gain" that completely changed how I look at achievement, what I've been learning from the scriptures about being still, and the surprising lesson my husband and I learned when we took a vacation with almost nothing on the agenda.
I don't think the answer is to stop having goals or stop working toward the things that matter to us. But I do wonder if we can pursue growth without constantly being dissatisfied with where we are.
Maybe we can build businesses, raise families, serve God, pursue meaningful goals—and still learn how to slow down.
Maybe the goal isn't simply to DO more. Maybe it's to BECOME more.
If you're a Christian woman who sometimes feels like you're constantly trying to catch up, accomplish more, improve yourself, grow your business, or become the person you think you "should" be, I hope this conversation gives you permission to take a breath and appreciate where you are right now.
