Have you ever noticed that we feel very differently about Christ's birth than we do his return? Let's explore his birth and second coming as we worship today.

You've likely heard of Hanukkah. It's a Jewish holiday. Though it isn't found in the Old Testament, it is surrounded by scripture and it invites us to consider the need to rededicate our hearts to the work of God.

Christians are constantly under construction. We are God's work in progress--so don't be surprised if it's a little bit messy!

Jesus doesn’t just change where you spend eternity. Jesus changes what you do in this life. And if Jesus isn’t making a difference in your life in this life—are you sure he’s going to in the next one?

Your soul, I believe, is antifragile. God made you that way. You’re tougher than you think. Stronger than you realize. Braver than you know.

Sometimes our sensibilities of what is or isn’t possible directly affect our view of scripture.

The Bible gives a lot of commandments to us. I’m not sure which ones you think are the hardest or the easiest. We all could probably make our own lists. We’re not each tempted alike, But all of the Bible’s instructions to you and me actually kind boil down to the same idea.

Jesus is a priest after the order of Melchizedek – it’s saying – he’s an even better priest than Aaron’s crews.

How is that progress toward maturity coming?

You might be crawling, but if you’re putting one foot in front of the other, you’re getting closer to the goal.

All other priests in the Bible lived and died, and were part of a priesthood that ultimately ended. But Jesus is a priest who never gets too old for the job.
