The extraterrestrial comedy podcast where we probe the life and times and afterlife and after times of legendary Gentleman Pirate, Stede Bonnet. Stede is kind of renowned in the 2020’s as having been a bit of a cr*p pirate, but was Stede really that bad? We’ll find out for in this episode we will probe all that Stede got up to from his early life to Stede’s marriage, possible difficulties that Stede had going on as outlined by North Carolina Maritime Museum archaeologist David Moore and that nagging feeling that Stede had. The call of the seas, if you will. Stede would answer that call and we have lots of records of the booty-looting Stede got up to from that point onwards. Along the way, as we’ve covered before, Stede got a little help from his friends. Well, an allegedly true friend, if you will (again). A black bearded friend, if you will, will, will (again, again). But when the heat would be on, the fleet would be gone for that friend had a cunning plan. Stede does not appear to have been party to that plan. But what happened to Stede after that? Stede held a grudge and revenge prospers no person it would appear because two shakes of a Stede later, Stede would be begging for his own life. There may also have been a cunning escape somewhere along the line and this one was the stuff of movies. Ultimately though, Stede would succumb to a grizzly death and be left to roam the world… All that and more on this week’s file.

Music created via Garageband. Additional music via: https://freepd.com - thank you most kindly good people. Covering pirates, we simply had to utilise Rare’s wonderful music from the Xbox Sea Of Thieves courtesy of Microsoft and composed via the magical Robin Beanland. That included Maiden Voyage, Summon the Megalodon, Shipwreaks and We Shall Sail Together. We finished with the Super Nintendo’s ‘Staff Roll’ aka Credits Theme from 1990-1992’s Super Mario World, composed by Hero of Sound Kōji Kondō.

The extraterrestrial comedy podcast where we remember remember the fifth of November, gunpowder treason and plot as we probe the little-known truth behind the well-known life of one Guy ‘Guido’ Fawkes. Those little-known facts are basically that Guy may have become a ghost and continued to haunt the United Kingdom for centuries after Guy’s passing. That’s not all that Guy’s ghost has been up to though… Before we get there, we uncover the already established details of Guy’s life from Guy’s involvement in a war that didn’t involve him to Guy’s involvement in a plot that did involve him, but that Guy certainly wasn’t the ringleader of (as many believe today). Guy is well-known to have been tortured at the Tower of London but was Guy tortured so badly that his spirit remains there today? If Guy’s spirit does remain tethered to the United Kingdom, is Guy searching for afterlife love? Has Guy found it, in London? Guy was a sexy guy, after all. A sexy Guy with a taste for Brandy. All that and more on this week’s file.

I’m sure he won’t be happy but we borrowed a tune from Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton called The Room Where It Happens, which was created and performed by the Original Broadway Cast of Hamilton (via Atlantic Records). That just felt right when discussing the plotting of the Gunpowder Plot. We finished the show with the ‘Staff Roll’ otherwise known as the Credits Theme from 1990-1992’s Super Mario World on the Super Nintendo, composed by Hero of Sound Kōji Kondō.

The extraterrestrial comedy podcast where we probe the daughter of Aaron Burr, sir, but they don’t teach you about this in Hamilton. We breeze through the late 1700’s in to the early 1800’s as we learn all about the close relationship between Aaron Burr and Burr’s daughter, Dear Theodosia. But Burr had to flee the country and when Burr returned to America, Theodosia faced some difficulty in returning to her father. The remnants of that difficulty may still plague the Bald Head Island shoreline today. There be pirates in these waters, Jaaaaaaaack. There be spirits in these waters, Jaaaaaaaaaack. Alongside that we ponder who shot first aka who was the Han between Burr and Alexander Hamilton? We also question whether there is an official honeymoon record? Are Moonwalker and Greybeard married? Change the name and nobody knows… All that and more on this week’s file.

As we introduced the circumstances of today’s probe, we felt obligated to include the ‘Aaron Burr, Sir’ tune from Hamilton created by Lin-Manuel Miranda and performed by the Original Broadway Cast of Hamilton (via Atlantic Records). When discussing ships wrecking, you may have clocked the use of a Rare Sea Of Thieves tune entitled ‘Shipwrecks’ which is courtesy of Microsoft and composed via the majestic Robin Beanland. We finished up with the ’Staff Roll’ theme from Nintendo’s 1990-1992 Super Mario World from the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, composed by Hero of Sound Kōji Kondō.

The extraterrestrial comedy podcast where we probe 260’s-ish Before Common Era Ruler, Ashoka’s formation of a secret society to protect the secrets of the world. Until the world is ready, that is. Yes, today we cover the Nine Unknown Men. Or should that be Nine Unknown People? We whizz over the background of the third Indian Subcontinent Mauryan leader named Ashoka who, after conquering the lands, had a change of heart (which had nothing to do with there being nothing left to conquer). Ashoka would turn to peace and to maintain that peace, Ashoka formed a secret group. This group of Nine Unknown Men would hold the worlds most deadly secrets. Those secrets involved, Propaganda, Communication, Physiology, Microbiology, Gravity, Cosmology, Alchemy, Light and Sociology. Can you guess who got their hands on the secrets of propaganda? Which of the nine is the deadliest power? Was an actual Pope once one of the Nine? All that and more on this week’s file.

The extraterrestrial comedy podcast where we probe the Narrabeen Monster which may or may not be but probably is an alien elephant. We also learn a lot about elephants because we are educational bastards on But It Was Aliens. The Narrabeen Lake near Sydney in New South Wales, Australia, was visited by one of these little beautiful decrepit elephants in 1968. Mabel Walsh and Mabel’s nephew, John, saw this visit taking place. John by the way was extremely handsome, honourable and trustworthy. Mabel and dashing John wouldn’t be the only experiencers of this experience however… When things get credible, the big UFO researchers get involved. But can the alleged experts tell us whether this is a case of VampAliens or EleVamps? All that and more on this week’s file.

For, we believe, the second time on this podcast, as we discussed Old Gregg discussion, we included a snippet from Love Games from the Mighty Boosh comedy troupe. This song featured in BBC Three series two episode ‘The Legend of Old Gregg’ performed by Old Gregg and Howard Moon (Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt). Have you ever drunk Bailey’s from a shoe? We finished up with the ’Staff Roll’ aka credits theme from Nintendo’s 1990-1992 Super Mario World from the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, composed by Hero of Sound Kōji Kondō.
