Butter With That

Happy New Year y'all!! We hope that everyone in the ButterFam had a wonderful holiday season, and to celebrate the New Year we are releasing a special episode this week...OUR THRID TRIVIA EPISODE! This time, guest starring Tom (from our Lighthouse special episode). Will Dave defend his Buttery Belt? Will Tom take over the podcast?? Listen to find out!

We hope everyone had a safe and merry holiday season!! Coinciding with this special time of year is Sam's pick Cellular. This film cemented Chris Evans as a favorite actor for Sam and listen to us discuss how much we love Chris in this VERRRY 2004 film (brought to you by Nokia). Sam also asks the rest of us to talk about our favorite actors and what movies made us love them.

The CHRIS-mas train keeps chugging along! This week, we discuss Chrystine's pick...Adaptation! Written by Charlie Kaufman, this film stars Nicholas Cage playing Kaufman as he tries to write a film adaptation of a seemingly unadaptable book about an orchid thief. The Chris we are celebrating in this movie is CHRIS COOPER, whose oscar winning performance caps off this wonderfully meta film about the creative process.

Additionally, Chrys asks us to pick a movie that we want to write ourselves into and things get......unexpected....Listen to find out!

For film #2 celebrating CHRIS-mas, Tori is brining Christine (the Stephen King car movie directed by John Carpenter!). Listen to us discuss the amazing practical effects, lead performances, and how music is used in the film. Tori also asks us to reveal our favorite Stephen King movie adaptation (spoiler alert...there are A LOT of King adaptations! Who knew??)

Hey gang - our very own Tori has teamed up with Dan and Garrett of the I Like To Movie Movie podcast to bring us a rundown of the 28th annual Philadelphia Film Festival! Listen as they discuss, unpack, and recommend various films screened at this year's Fest and be sure to check out I Like To Movie Movie for other great cinema insights!

We hope you enjoy this bonus discussion and, next week, CHRIS-mas continues, so stay tuned!

Join us for our next installment of CHRISmas as we discuss Christopher Guest's comedy classic, Best in Show. Also want to know what dog and Best in Show character we would be? Listen to find out!

Happy Thanksgiving Week ButterFam! We hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday! We are so INCREDIBLY thankful for every listener we have!!

SPEAKING OF BEING THANKFUL - We are wrapping up our Food and Family month with Sam's pick...While You Were Sleeping (starring Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman). Take a journey with us back in time to Rom Coms of 90's past as Sam and the ButterCrew discuss this classic, heartwarming, and funny romantic comedy classic. Is this a secretly sinister movie? Will Sandra ever find love? Should she have told the truth??? We'll discuss these questions and more! Additionally, Sam also asks us to think about dreams we've had that we want to become real.

Shoplifters & Family Food Traditions - Ep. 64 by Butter With That?

"Why'd ye spill yer beans.....?" This week Team Butter has something a little different for our listeners this week. Some of us got the chance to see Robert Eggar's (dir. of 2015's The Witch) newest film THE LIGHTHOUSE! For this episode we also are joined by friend of show Tom, who is a maritime enthusiast, and he provides a lot of wonderful insight into this magnificently bizarre movie.

We all loved this wild, manic, and beautiful film about Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson's slow dissent into madness. Hear us discuss the themes, inspirations, and what the heck actually happened in the plot!
