Originally, the plan, from what I can tell, was for the series to run the traditional 65 episode series run.  

That was before it just exploded into what it is today.  

But it got me thinking.  If things were to have gone as originally intended, and thus ended with Season 3, was "Secret Of My Excess" going to bring the Sparity ship of Spike and Rarity full circle?

After watching the DuckTales Finale, it got me thinking, that both this finale and the MLP Finale show how, (with the right writers on the creative team), a series finale for an animated show (no matter how long they've been around) can be do right and memorable.
