  • #35 “Take advantage of every opportunity” with Kirk Sargent, CEO of First Foundation NZ

Welcome to this new episod of the By Doing Good podcast, where we feature powerful stories from the front line of social innovation.

Our guest today is Kirk Sargent, CEO of First Foundation, an organisation working to give talented young Kiwis a brighter future.

When Kirk was a young man his parents told him to “Take advantage of every opportunity.” And boy did he take that advice to heart, turning his science degree into work in remote communities in Fiji and Hawaii, teaching in and leading educational institutions, helping to build Māori and Pasifika Trades Training: Auckland, and over a decade as a trustee at the Auckland Foundation.

In today’s episode you’ll hear how Kirk brings this combination of commercial, learning and social impact experience to First Foundation, to help to create more opportunities for talented young Kiwis.

So settle in for this fascinating and inspiring conversation with Kirk.

First Foundation will be the NGO beneficiary for our next Big Bloom New Zealand end of March.
