What if the person you loved—and lost—is still finding ways to communicate with you?
What if you suddenly smell their unmistakable perfume, cigarette smoke, favorite food, or another familiar scent when there is no obvious source?
And what if that mysterious experience is not something to fear, but a reminder that love, connection, and relationships may continue after death?
In this fascinating and deeply personal episode, I talk with Angie Hawkins, an inner glow coach, adventurer, author, and woman who has built a life around courage, confidence, healing, and saying yes to experiences that challenge her.
Communicating With a Loved One After Death
One of the most beautiful parts of Angie's story is that she and her father had not been close while he was alive.
Their relationship had been complicated. Angie describes growing up with a father who struggled with alcoholism and depression, and their relationship never became what she had hoped it would be.
They weren't even speaking much during the years before his death.
Yet after his death, Angie began writing him letters every day.
Over time, she came to experience her father not simply as someone she had lost, but as a presence who could still be part of her life.
She describes him as a protector—and even as a best friend.
That creates an extraordinary question:
Can relationships be healed after someone dies?
For Angie, the answer has become yes.
Can You Heal a Relationship After Death?
Angie's story isn't simply about paranormal experiences or communication with spirits.
It's also about second chances.
A friend once suggested something Angie had never considered: perhaps her father's presence after death wasn't only healing for her. Perhaps it offered him an opportunity to show up as the father he had not been able to be during his physical life.
That idea completely changed the way Angie viewed their relationship.
Angie Hawkins and the Medium Who Knew About the Sweater
Eventually, Angie experienced her father's presence often enough that she decided to visit a medium.
Interestingly, Angie says she didn't really believe in mediums at the time.
She was embarrassed and worried that people would think she was crazy.
But during the reading, the medium said several things that immediately caught Angie's attention. To hear what those "things" were that were said, well, you'll just have to listen to the episode!
What Happens After Someone Dies?
This episode doesn't attempt to give a definitive answer to one of humanity's oldest mysteries:
What happens after death?
Instead, Angie shares the experiences that caused her own beliefs to change.
Her story invites us to consider questions like:
These are questions without easy answers—and that's exactly why they are so fascinating.
What Angie Hawkins Can Teach Us About Courage
One of my favorite messages from this conversation is simple:
You may be much braver than you think you are.
Sometimes we look at one frightening thing in front of us and assume we're not capable of doing it.
Then we remember everything we've already survived. And Angie is the real deal, a powerful reminder that saying "yes" can change your reality, and your world!

If you've ever experienced a strange sign after someone died, smelled the unmistakable scent of a deceased loved one, wondered whether someone you lost could still communicate with you, or simply found yourself fascinated by life after death, mediumship, synchronicity, mystery, and unexplained experiences, this conversation with Angie Hawkins is for you.
It's funny.
It's vulnerable.
It's spooky in places.
It's deeply compassionate.
And above all, it's a conversation about second chances, healing, courage, and the possibility that love doesn't simply disappear when someone dies.

Have you ever asked for a sign and then had something happen that felt almost too perfectly timed to be a coincidence?
What does synchronicity mean? Are coincidences meaningful? How do you know if something is a sign from God or the universe? And what happens when a major life crisis forces you to completely rethink your identity, career, and purpose?
In this episode, I talk with Chip Scholz, an executive coach, author, storyteller, woodworker, and student of leadership, legacy, and what he calls “handoffs.”
What Is Synchronicity? A Real-Life Story of a Meaningful Coincidence
One of the biggest questions explored in this episode is:
What is synchronicity?
Psychologist Carl Jung used the term to describe meaningful coincidences — events that appear connected by meaning even though there is no obvious causal relationship. Contemporary discussions of synchronicity similarly focus on the strange experience of inner thoughts or circumstances lining up with unexpected external events.
Chip has a story that brings that question to life and will have you believing in an intentional and life-giving Universe! (you'll just have to listen to see!)
What Does It Mean When You Ask God for a Sign?
Chip's spirituality is an important part of the conversation.
When his business was struggling, he essentially said:
Show me that I'm going in the right direction.
Then came the gas-station encounter.
For people who search for phrases such as “signs from God,” “how do I know God is guiding me,” “how do I know I'm on the right path,” or “what does it mean when I pray for a sign,” Chip's story offers a fascinating real-world example and again, will have you believing in a Universe and God that has our backs!
Here are other questions this episode answers beautifully, because honestly, Chip's life is an example to us all...
How Do You Find Purpose After a Stroke?
How Do You Find Meaning After A Major Life Crisis?
And Finally, Can Getting Laid Off Change Your Life for the Better?
You Can't Give What You Don't Have!
One of my favorite moments in the conversation comes when Chip explains that if you're going to help other people become their best selves, you have to continue developing yourself, too.
You can't give what you don't have.
If your own tank is empty, it's difficult to help someone else move forward.
That's a powerful idea for coaches, leaders, parents, teachers, mentors, and anyone whose work involves helping other people.
Why Do Meaningful Coincidences Happen During Life Changes?
One particularly interesting thread connects Chip's story to a larger question about synchronicity.
Why do people sometimes notice unusual coincidences when they're going through major transitions?
Recent psychological writing on synchronicity has explored how meaningful coincidences may become particularly noticeable during periods of illness, career change, retirement, grief, and other identity-shifting transitions.
That makes Chip's story especially interesting.
His most striking “sign” happened while his business was uncertain.
His life changed after a layoff, his life during and after his stroke, and his life continues to change, but Chip has learned that being in the flow, and watching for the magic and the mystery in life, is all about creating greater connection and belief in that great Spirit that weaves this Universe into being!
What If the Unexpected Event Is Exactly What You Needed?
This may be the biggest question in the entire episode.
What if you don't know what an event means while you're living through it?
A layoff can look like failure.
A health crisis can look like devastation.
A career change can look like instability.
An unexpected encounter can look like a coincidence.
But what if the meaning becomes visible only later?
Chip's story suggests that sometimes the twists and turns of life don't simply take us away from our path.
They create the path.
And sometimes we only understand that after we've traveled a considerable distance.
If you've ever experienced a coincidence that felt like more than a coincidence…
If you've ever asked for a sign…
If you've wondered whether you're on the right path…

What if your dreams could tell you something was happening in the waking world?
Michelle Lerner has experienced dreams so vivid and specific that, afterward, real-life events seemed to mirror what she had dreamed. A horse throwing a shoe. A friend's grandfather approaching death. Moments that raise an unsettling and fascinating question: Are some dreams more than dreams?
In this deeply moving conversation, Michelle — author of the acclaimed novel Ring — takes us into the mysterious territory where precognitive dreams, synchronicity, grief, meditation, mystical experiences, animals, and the possibility of a hidden connection between all things begin to overlap.
And that's only the beginning. Michelle also shares what it feels like to briefly experience something beyond the thinking mind — a fleeting glimpse “behind the veil” that was so profound that a few seconds seemed worth an entire four-day meditation retreat.
This is a conversation about the mysteries we can't explain, the losses we can't avoid, and the extraordinary human capacity to keep creating beauty anyway.
Can Dreams Predict the Future?
One of the most fascinating parts of this conversation is Michelle's experience with dreams that seemed to correspond with events occurring outside her immediate awareness.
These weren't vague dreams that could be interpreted after the fact. They were unusually vivid experiences involving specific people, animals, and circumstances.
Michelle describes how these experiences occurred at different periods in her life and then disappeared for years before returning.
We explore what it feels like to experience a dream that later appears to correspond with something happening in the real world — and the difficulty of explaining that experience to someone who hasn't experienced it themselves.
What Are Precognitive Dreams?
The phenomenon of precognitive dreams has fascinated people for centuries.
Michelle's experiences raise questions such as:
Michelle's interpretation is particularly intriguing. Rather than necessarily thinking of her dreams as predictions of the future, she wonders whether they might represent a kind of tapping into an interconnected universal force — sensing something that is happening elsewhere rather than seeing something that hasn't happened yet.
I mean, I've had my own experiences with dreams that have changed my life, so I am all in for this episode!
The Experience of Going “Behind the Veil”
Michelle also describes an extraordinary experience during a meditation retreat.
After four days of sitting and walking meditation, she experienced a brief moment in which she felt completely outside her usual thinking mind.
It lasted only seconds.
But those seconds were enough.
She describes the experience as a profound sense of simply existing in the space around her, rather than constantly thinking about it.
It was a fleeting glimpse of what she describes as something like going behind the veil — an experience of deep connection that is extraordinarily difficult to put into words.
Why Is It So Hard to Explain Mystical Experiences?
One of the most compelling ideas in this conversation is that human language may simply be inadequate for describing certain experiences.
Michelle uses a beautiful metaphor inspired by a line from musician Ani DiFranco: trying to intellectually comprehend the universe can be like trying to put an ocean into a paper cup.
Perhaps our minds are simply not equipped to contain everything we experience.
Perhaps we don't always have to understand an experience intellectually to recognize that it mattered.
And perhaps mystery isn't a problem to solve.
Maybe sometimes mystery is something to experience.
I know I've had challenges describing what I've witnessed and experienced, whether in my daily life, or my dreams. It is a state of complete witness...and noetic experiences are beyond human comprehension, so there's that.
The Miracle in Michelle Lerner's Story!
Near the end of our conversation, Michelle's story becomes bigger than dreams and synchronicity.
It's about persistence.
It's about continuing to create even when life is hard.
It's about using your experiences — including the painful ones — to make something meaningful for other people.
Michelle has moved through law, illness, animals, grief, writing, poetry, and experiences that challenge easy explanations. And through all of it, she has continued to create beauty.
That's the miracle I hear in Michelle's story.
Not that difficult things don't happen.
They do.
But that we can keep going anyway.
We can remain curious.
We can create.
We can love.
We can make meaning.
And sometimes, if we're paying attention, we may encounter something we can't explain — a strange dream, an impossible coincidence, a moment of synchronicity, or a brief glimpse behind the veil.
Maybe we don't have to explain everything.
Maybe sometimes we just have to notice.
And keep going.

What if the hardest moments of childhood could become the source of your greatest purpose? Stanley Bronstein shares a remarkable story of loss, synchronicity, weight loss, mindset transformation and the miracles that shaped his life.
In this extraordinary episode, I’m joined by Stanley Bronstein, an attorney, CPA, author, mindset coach, walking expert, and weight loss expert whose life story is filled with transformation, resilience, synchronicity and what can only be described as miracle moments.
Stanley’s story begins with profound childhood loss. When he was just eight years old, his mother died unexpectedly. Stanley remembers becoming completely “stone cold,” unable to cry or process what had happened.
Decades later, another family funeral would bring that childhood experience rushing back—and give Stanley an opportunity to help another grieving child in exactly the way he himself had needed someone to help him.
The Childhood Loss That Shaped an Entire Life
One of the most moving parts of this conversation is Stanley’s story of losing his mother when he was eight years old.
He didn't cry at her funeral.
At the time, nobody recognized how deeply the experience had affected him. There was no counseling and no intervention. Stanley simply learned to keep moving forward while carrying something enormous inside him.
Years later, he would realize just how profoundly that childhood experience had shaped him.
And then, approximately 25 years later, Stanley found himself standing at another funeral, looking at two young boys who had just lost their grandmother.
One boy was crying.
The other was standing there completely still.
Stanley looked at the younger boy and recognized himself. And to hear Stanley's miracle moment, you'll just have to listen to the episode-it's breathtaking, and changed two lives that day!
When Your Past Becomes Your Purpose
There is something extraordinarily powerful about the way Stanley's childhood experience eventually allowed him to help someone else.
Sometimes we don't understand the meaning of an experience while we're living through it.
Only years later do we discover that something we survived has given us the ability to recognize suffering in another person.
Stanley didn't simply see a grieving child.
He saw his younger self. And guess what? That changed everything!
Can You Really Change Your Life?
One of the biggest questions running through this conversation is whether we are permanently defined by our past.
Stanley's life suggests a different possibility.
Our experiences shape us—but they don't necessarily have to determine what happens next.
A difficult childhood can become part of your story without becoming the end of your story.
A health crisis can become a turning point.
A painful experience can eventually become a source of compassion.
And a decision made today can change the direction of an entire life! Seriously!
Why You’ll Want to Hear This Conversation
Stanley Bronstein's story is about far more than weight loss.
It's about grief, resilience, transformation, synchronicity, persistence and the mysterious ways our lives can connect across decades.
It's about a little boy who lost his mother.
It's about a man who later recognized that same little boy in another grieving child.
It's about tears that waited decades to be released.

It's about a family of snails appearing at a meaningful place.
And it's about discovering that no matter what has happened before, you still have the ability to decide what happens next.
If you're going through a difficult transition, trying to change your habits, working toward weight loss, healing from grief, or simply wondering whether it's possible to reinvent yourself, Stanley's story offers an unforgettable reminder:
Your life is not finished. You can change direction. You can begin again.
The world is yours to imagine—and then to make.

What happens when an impossible answer appears at exactly the right moment? Dr. Danny Brassell shares two extraordinary stories of divine timing, answered prayers, faith, coincidence and the mysterious ways life can change us.
What if some of the most important moments in our lives arrive disguised as something completely ordinary?
A ridiculous ice cream question.
A seemingly random thought in the middle of church.
A message delivered by a stranger at exactly the right moment.
In this fascinating episode, I sit down with Dr. Danny Brassell, a celebrated speaker, storyteller, author, trainer and coach who has spoken to more than 3,500 audiences around the world. Known by some as “Jim Carrey with a PhD,” Danny brings enormous humor, warmth and energy to everything he does.
But beneath all the laughter are two stories that stopped me in my tracks.
They are stories about faith, coincidence, divine timing, answered prayers, synchronicity and those strange moments when life seems to whisper that there is something more happening than we can see.
What If Coincidences Aren’t Really Coincidences?
Danny shares two deeply personal experiences that he considers encounters with God.
The first happened when he was a teenager participating in Boy State. What began as a week of joking around with friends unexpectedly turned into a series of increasingly important elections.
Danny kept winning.
Eventually, he found himself competing for the opportunity to become a U.S. Senator at Boys Nation and travel to Washington, D.C.
Then came the final debate.
After answering questions about politics and public issues, Danny and his opponent were given one final, seemingly ridiculous question:
If you could be any flavor of ice cream, what would you be? And to hear the rest of the story, you're just going to have to listen to the episode!
A Prayer That Was Answered by a Stranger
Danny's second story involves his wife, Jeannie, and is even more startling.
While sitting in church, Jeannie suddenly turned to Danny and said something that had absolutely nothing to do with the sermon:
Wouldn't it be wonderful if Jesus told you that he loved you?
Danny dismissed it as a random thought.
But shortly afterward, while picking up their children from children's ministry, the teacher approached Jeannie.
She had a message for her.
And the message was remarkably similar to the thought Jeannie had expressed only moments earlier.
For Danny, the timing was impossible to ignore.
It became one of those extraordinary experiences that raises a question people have asked for centuries:
How do we know when something is coincidence — and when it feels like a sign?
The Mystery of Divine Timing
One of the things I love about Danny's stories is that he doesn't try to turn them into a universal explanation.
He's sharing what happened to him.
And that's what makes these stories so compelling.
Whether you understand them through the language of Christian faith, synchronicity, coincidence, intuition, divine intervention or mystery, they raise fascinating questions about the experiences that shape our lives.
Why do certain things happen at exactly the right moment?
Why do some coincidences feel profoundly meaningful?
Can an ordinary event become a turning point?
And why do certain moments stay with us for decades?
Danny's stories invite us to remain curious about those questions.

What does it take to keep fighting when the stories you carry include torture, imprisonment, political violence, loss, and generations of struggle?
In this powerful and deeply moving episode, we speak with Zolal Habibi, an Iranian-American human rights activist and member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), about women’s rights in Iran, Iranian women’s resistance, human rights, freedom, political repression, and what it means to carry the stories of a people who are still fighting for change.
This is a particularly important episode because Zolal's story is not simply about politics. It is also about mothers, daughters, memory, courage, grief, history, and the extraordinary ways people can transform personal loss into a lifelong commitment to something larger than themselves.
Please note: This episode contains discussions of torture, executions, war, murder, political repression, and other traumatic events. Please listen with care.
Who Is Zolal Habibi?
Zolal Habibi describes herself as a member of the Iranian Resistance and says she has dedicated her life to the cause of freedom in Iran. Her activism was profoundly shaped by her family history and by growing up surrounded by people who had experienced political persecution and imprisonment.
She shares how her father was killed by the Iranian regime and how, from childhood, she was exposed to stories of people who had endured extraordinary suffering while continuing to hold onto hope and their commitment to freedom.
Rather than viewing her circumstances only through the lens of personal tragedy, Zolal describes seeing herself as fortunate to have been raised by parents who taught her to think critically, develop strong values, and understand the importance of standing up for others.
Her public biography also identifies her as an Iranian human-rights and women's-rights advocate with more than two decades of activism.
Women’s Rights in Iran and the Power of Iranian Women
One of the central themes of this conversation is the role of women in Iran's struggle for freedom.
Zolal argues that Iranian women have played an important role in movements for political and social change for generations. She discusses women's participation in Iranian history, the protests surrounding compulsory veiling, women's pursuit of education, and the role of mothers in publicly remembering children who have been killed.
The episode also explores the significance of the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement, which became internationally prominent following the death in custody of Jina Mahsa Amini in September 2022. The United Nations' independent fact-finding mission has documented serious human-rights violations against women and girls in connection with the protests and subsequent repression.
For Zolal, the story of Iranian women is not simply a story of victimhood.
It is a story of resistance, agency, courage, education, leadership, and refusing to surrender the possibility of a different future.
The Mothers Who Turn Grief Into Resistance
Some of the most powerful moments in this interview involve mothers.
Zolal tells stories of Iranian mothers who experienced unimaginable losses and nevertheless chose to preserve the memories of their children and speak publicly about what happened.
She describes one mother whose children were killed by the regime and who transformed the remembrance of her son into an act of celebration rather than allowing his death to become forgotten.
These stories raise a profound question:
What happens when grief becomes a reason to keep going rather than a reason to give up?
Throughout the conversation, Zolal emphasizes the importance of preserving these stories for future generations.
What Would a Free Iran Look Like?
Near the end of the interview, Zolal describes the vision for Iran advocated by the National Council of Resistance of Iran, including concepts such as:
The NCRI publicly describes these principles as part of its political platform.
This portion of the conversation is particularly useful for listeners who want to understand what political alternatives Iranian opposition groups are proposing, rather than hearing only about the current situation.
A Conversation About Courage, Memory, and Hope
This is a difficult episode.
It is also a deeply human one.
Zolal Habibi brings decades of family history, activism, grief, political knowledge, and personal experience to a conversation about Iran and the women who continue to demand a different future.
Whatever your existing knowledge of Iran, this conversation offers an opportunity to listen to one person's perspective, learn more about the history behind the headlines, and consider what happens when ordinary people decide that the stories of their families and communities must not be forgotten.
Listen to the full episode and hear Zolal Habibi tell these stories in her own words.
And, as always, please explore the additional resources and links accompanying this episode so you can continue learning about the people, history, and human-rights issues discussed here.
