In 1980, Congress enacted Public Law 96-375, authorizing the Secretary of the Interior to study the feasibility of enlarging Shasta Dam. Every study the Bureau of Reclamation has conducted under that authority has concluded that enlarging Shasta Dam would have multiple benefits. Open-air drug markets, narcotic tourism, rampant theft and lax camping regulation have made Oakland "unlivable," a neighborhood advocate told Fox News. For five years, Kern County posted the highest homicide rate across California, according to the state Attorney General, whose statistics have attracted various reactions from leaders. The Target store in Bakersfield’s Valley Plaza Mall has banned teens from entering its premises or shopping after 4PM unless accompanied by an adult. Bill McEwen, a columnist for San Joaquin Valley news site GV Wire, posed several of what he considered to be routine factual questions to the state Department of Public Health last week about a mysterious laboratory discovered in the small town of Reedley. As the public continues to learn more about the illegal lab operating out of Reedley, officials say misinformation is starting to circulate.
