Welcome to the Cadillac Jack – My Second Act podcast! On today's show, Zach Bryan thinks he's a big man and Coco Gauff wins the U.S. Open.
But first, Donna has an update for us on her "Everesting." As you may remember, she is working on her plan to hike mountains and recently went to a seminar of sorts to plan and get some questions answered. Some folks in attendance reminded her – the time is now. It's good advice in general! If you have something you've been wanting to do or accomplish, get started…today!
Atlanta's own Coco Gauff won the U.S. Open over the weekend in New York City and one of the cooler parts about the entire episode was seeing the reactions from her dad, his pride in her, and the emotions on his face. It got us to talking about emotions generally, and how men handle them – specifically crying.
Also, country music up-and-comer Zach Bryan was arrested in Oklahoma and it did not go well. Audio of the event made the news and it showed that Zach things he's hot you know what – and he trated the arresting officer with something far less than respect. Caddy has some advice for everyone out there – respect the blue.
Have you ever seen your husband/father cry? If so, what for? Let us know by calling or texting 770-464-6024.
Welcome to the Cadillac Jack – My Second Act podcast! On today's show the Jacks are still off for Labor Day Week. Aren't you?
Caddy finds a little time away from his not laboring to check in with you and leave you with a golden nugget from a prior episode we get to relive together.
On Thursday's episode we will talk about the passing of legendary entertainer and entrepreneur Jimmy Buffett. Be sure to tune in.
Have in memories inspired by Buffett's music? Let us know. Text or call 770-464-6024.
Can you hear me? We're on the run here today on the Cadillac Jack: My Second Act podcast. To kick off our new tradition, Donna starts by pointing out the irony in Caddy's life. Then she 'pivots' to an article about Atlanta magazine that has been blowing up in the media world. It's a good conversation about different types of journalism and what it means if people are recording your conversations. Sort of. Seriously though, it's an interesting conversation.
Then it's game time in the Cadillac Jack: My Second Act nation. We review some recent scores of a Caddy loss and talk Bob Barker. Too soon? Let us know. 7704646024.
Welcome to the Cadillac Jack - My Second Act podcast! On the show today, Donna finally reveals what happened to her red slider turtles.
Keep your red slider turtles out of your kitchens, folks! The CDC put out a warning about a possible salmonella outbreak and warned that kissing certain animals…on the mouth…is probably a bad idea. Granted, you shouldn't need a CDC warning to know that, but we digress.
Sad news over the weekend as legendary TV gameshow host Bob Barker passed away at 99. What do you remember most about the man and his iconic gameshow? Barker's beauties? The long microphone? Or maybe his attention to the importance of spaying or neutering your pets? Caddy and Donna discuss.
Also, it's almost football season (Go Dawgs). Donna ran across a poll that incorporates both our love for football and the genre for which this podcast is dedicated: music. A collection of college football coaches were asked who their favorite artists were and we share the results.
Have you ever owned a red slider turtle? If so, what did you eh, do with it? Asking for a friend. Call or text 770-464-6024.
Welcome to the Cadillac Jack – My Second Act podcast! Caddy and Donna talk about their increasingly empty house and dealing with the (nearly) empty nest blues.
If you have ever had a kid go off to college you know the hole they leave in your house and the quiet that follows it. You're half expecting them to walk through the front door after school…but they don't. Donna and Caddy talk about dealing with that feeling and what they are doing about it with 2 of 3 out the door and the last one not far behind.
Speaking of college – it's a big new world for freshmen filled with new responsibilities, opportunities and challenges. Caddy and Donna talk about their own struggles, but also how the landscape for young adults and what they face when they leave home has changed so much since they were kids.
Have your own empty nest story and want to share it? Call or text 770-464-6024 and tell us all about it.
Welcome back to the Cadillac Jack – My Second Act podcast! It's time for Donna to fess up about her addiction to PB&J Snack Duos.
So, Donna has had a mild obsession with these tasty morsels from Trader Joe's called PB&J Snack Duos. She thought she may have put them in her past, but she was wrong. Her birthday was last week and someone dropped off an entire crate of them for her. The struggle is real.
Donna also has some thoughts on college rush these days. In short: it's out of control. From these crazy TikTok videos, to the booty shorts, it's jus too much. Did you know your daughter (and you) can even hire a "rush consultant"?! It's true. Not like it was back in the day when Donna…well, nevermind.
We wrap the how with an interview Caddy did with the Funniest Man in America – Mr. James Gregory! It's a belly of laughs and you won't want to miss it.
Have a favorite snack you just can't get enough of? Let us know. Call or text 770-464-6024 and tell us all about it.
Welcome to the Cadillac Jack – My Second Act podcast. Sorry we're late, but when Queen Bee is in town…you pay your respects.
Donna's air conditioning is out. Again. This time, she has found a culprit, but it has been a long, hot summer and it makes Donna a little bit grouchy.
School is back and session and the Jacks are down to one child in the house. It's been emotional. Caddy and Donna talk about that slow, inevitable transition and how kids handle the transition differently.
Lastly, you may have heard that Morgan Wallen shaved his head and mustache. What you may not have heard is why. Donna has the exclusive inside scoop. Also, she's not a fan. Bring back the flow, Morgan!
Drop us a line! We would love to hear from you. Call or text 770-464-6024.
Great day to be alive here on the Cadillac Jack: My Second Act podcast.
We are back and better than ever after a tumultuous week of shows. To celebrate, Cadillac and Donna Jack are preparing for three nonstop days of Beyonce in Atlanta. Donna may even get a ticket on the way there. Who knows. We cover thee best Baes and prep for the show. After that the Jacks talk about living life and how that changes as time goes on. Donna says the most important part is the last 10% of what you do, of everything. It's at least where you have the most control. So make the most of what you can! Listen to all that and try to kind the kitty cat. Last but certainly not least:
Paging all the single ladies (who were at Taylor Swift but may still be at the Mercedes-Benz MARTA station) - just swipe your breeze card and get on. Then let us know what you think. 7704646024.
Welcome to the Cadillac Jack – My Second Act podcast! Garth Brooks finally weighs in on the Jason Aldean controversy and Taylor Swift makes dreams come true.
But first, Donna point out that she and Caddy have now been doing the podcast together for almost 4 years (!) and are working together on radio now. She asks Caddy what he has learned about her in this very professional environment. Careful Caddy. Tread very carefully.
Caddy gets into the Jason Aldean controversy and let's just say Caddy doesn't have much patience for the haters. Tim McGraw, on the other hand, has been noticeably absent from the controversy…until now. Hear what he has to say about the song that is now at the top of the Hot 100 Billboard chart.
Also, Caddy gives listeners some insight into the drama behind radio shows brining talent on air for an interview. What can hosts ask? What can't they ask? Did Caddy ever follow the rules? Well, you know the answer to the last question, but it's an intriguing peak behind the curtain.
Lastly, Taylor Swift made news when it was revealed she gifted employees of her record breaking Eras Tour huge bonus checks. For some, it was as much as $100,000 – life changing money. Caddy talks about his history with Swift and how none of this comes as a surprise to him.
What would you do with an extra $100,000?! Let us know by texting or calling 770-464-6024.
Dog Days of Summer here on the Cadillac Jack: My Second Act podcast.
Can you feel the love in the studio today? You should, because Cadillac and donna Jack are finally back together. The show kicks off with the reason for reunification.
From there we fulfill our obligation as a semi music podcast with some viral news about Cardi B. We talk about what she and Cody Johnson (?) have in common.
Then we touch on some Republican pancakes and a bit of honky tonk headlines to round up the show.
Got waterbottles? Aim for us. 7704646024.
