 Shineta is a 28 year old artist that loves to spend time in higher levels

of consciences. She enjoy the study of psychology, science and physics. In

life, Shineta allows her mind to stay as free as possible so her work often

reflects a conversation between herself and other artists on her lever of

awareness. The ability to communicate that message to her viewers is always

important because Shineta has learned that creativity drives our world.

“My work reflects the state of

mind I was in during its creation.  The creation of art is a reflection of

life in the NOW, its viewing is the remembrance.”

My philosophy of art reflects my

passion for capturing the imagination and interest of the viewer, it provides

me with the ability to transform the way the people views both art as well as

the world around them. This transformation in viewing the world around us is my

primary goal in creating art. The idea of sharing differences with the world

instead of allowing them to hold me back, becomes a key component in what I bring

to the art field. This ability will come from researching iconography and

providing the viewer with the power to redefine semiology by altering the way

the viewer sees things that are new to them. Using art to support our

differences will intellectually challenge the viewer while introducing them to

something new.

Shannon has been painting

professionally for about 8 years in oil and lately, she’s been concentrating on

her favorite theme of seascapes and boats. Since she’s been doing this, Shannon

has won four awards since January, which confirms her belief that we should

follow our passions when creating. Shannon lives in the Conejo Valley of

Southern California and is a member of various local art associations such as

the juried Thousand Oaks Art Association, The Buenaventura Art Association and

the Westlake Village Art Guild.

“My passion is painting

contemporary seascapes created in oil, using palette knives with a focus on

color, mood, texture and light. I believe that seeing the world through an

artist's lens is a gift, so I celebrate by observing, contemplating and

painting the subtle details!”

originally from Houston, Texas but is currently studying at the Minneapolis

College of Art and Design. She’s been a practicing photographer for 6 years and

painting for 2 years now.

An entertaining interview with Fine Art Photographer James Fox. James Fox has been a Fine Art Photographer since 1973. He has had several one person and group gallery exhibits and in 2012 James participated in a 5 month two person show at the Rockwell Museum of Western Art in Corning NY.“Much of my Fine Art Photography is abstract I feel that I’m responding emotionally to a something found.”“Look at the world twice if you wish to see all there is to see.”  This advice, attributed to an Indian sage, best explains what happens to me when I’m looking for images. Second looks often take many years to acquire and even then the vision is less than complete.  Second looks are necessary for the artist.  Over the years I would look at various locations or subjects and wonder how to make such beauty accessible to me as a photographer and how to translate what I feel to an image.  My second looks begin only after a scene has taken hold of my imagination and demands action.

Artist Cheryl Church

who's art is so detailed that many of her pieces appear to be photographs

instead of drawings.  Listen to how she gets her inspiration for her art,

her artistic process and what messages she hopes her art brings to the viewer.

Cheryl is an artist, high school art teacher, coach, mother and grandmother.

 She was raised on a small farm in Kansas and has lived in Missouri for

the past 12 years. She has shown her work in Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas City,

Wisconsin, Missouri, Arkansas and New York.

“I am a color pencil painter. I manipulate the pencil to work like paint pushing the colors past pencil marks, combining the rich vibrant colors, which forces the viewer to come closer and spend more time looking. My favorite subjects are fruit, flowers and birds, often I have beautiful women in my pieces that coincide with the birds, flowers and fruit. Recently I have had a fetish with water, capturing a frozen moment, that splash of water as your feet jump into a puddle, or when you drop a piece of fruit in the water to rinse it off. The amazing colors and movement that are offset by the reflections in the water catch my eye, drawing me in closer, often resulting in an almost abstract piece.”

Born in Brooklyn, NY, James Tormey resides in Manhattan where he has worked for more than 35 years. His pieces have been shown in the U.S., Europe and Japan and are in many public and private collections. Tormey combines traditional subject matter with a contemporary interpretation, creating images of heroic proportions as light, reflected and transmitted, evokes clarity of vision and delight in the forms of the natural world.

Photographer Ken Bennison.  Ken was a winner of Contemporary Art Gallery

Online's Landscape competition.  Ken was born Kearney Ontario,

Canada.  He is a retired saw filer in the forestry industry and has spent

a life time exploring the wilderness of Northern Ontario.  Ken

says: “My work is a collection of fine art depicting wilderness scenes in

my environment, the magic moments of Mother Nature.  I provide a view that

most people never see and I try to preserve our wilderness for all to see

through art.”

with host Michael Harris and his guest Lea Novak, a winner in Contemporary Art

Gallery Onlines recent art competition.  Lea began painting slightly more

than 10 years ago, after painting a mural in her garage. She took a few classes

and workshops, as well as a few regular art courses at the local college. Her

work has been accepted into juried shows, both local and national, and Lea is

an Associate Member of the Oil Painters of America.

Listen in as host Michael Harris interviews guest artist Kim Ward.   Kim is a self educated artist from Wichita Falls, Texas.  She describes herself as curious, ambitious and fearless.  Her art is sometimes realistic and other times abstract impressionism.

Michael Harris interviews one of Contemporary Art Gallery Online's newest

member, Ashley Marie Williams.  Ashley lives in the Detroit, Michigan

area. She took one semester, in foundations, at the Academy of Art University

in San Francisco in 2011. She taught herself to paint when she was

accepted for residency at the Red Bull House of Art in Detroit in 2012. There

she did an experimental series, painting figures on wood with wood stain and

oils and has continued to experiment with different techniques.
