There are many lessons that God teaches us through the life and times of Moses. One that I have shared with people many times is found in Exodus 4. Moses doubted that he would be able to accomplish what God was instructing him to do. Then God asked Moses what was in his hand.

Please listen as we take a look at Three Oaks and three seasons. Spiritually, we are a lot like trees. We have oak trees in our yard. Watching them over the years has shown me a lot of parallels to our spiritual life. As you hear the descriptions, consider which one of the three best describes the “season” you are in.

Waiting. There are many times when we will wait on the Lord. As you are waiting to see God’s fingerprints, He’s never late but….seldom early. While going through our day to day activities, our mind keeps coming back to that item we have been praying about, waiting for the answer from God.

Even though this is not the official “Christmas Season”, we do have reason to rejoice all year long. I would like us all to consider the benefits of having a holiday perspective.

While walking through life with Him, there will be times when we will ask the question: why?  Lord, why did you allow something to happen or why does it appear that He is delaying an answer to prayer. Think on these things as we read His word and find examples in scripture.

There were “wild fires” in our community recently. Winds of 40 miles per hour and higher were pushing the destruction through our cities like a wall of flames. In order to update the thousands of residents in our region as to the status, they used terms and a map showing the various levels of readiness for evacuation. There are spiritual implications for these actions.

Think about what it means to be “best” at something, to give the “best”, to look “best”. Today, let’s look into scripture at God and “His best”, us and “Our best” and that for Christians, “the best” is yet to come!

While visiting the beach God showed me three examples of how Christians are lights in this world. There were beautiful white rocks on the dark sandy beach, along with other reminders of how we are the light of the gospel.

What does the term “Holiness” mean to you? For me it brings to mind the concept of a vessel that has been purified, dedicated for service to God. Holiness is available only from Him, the infinitely holy God.

Sowing and reaping are an inescapable reality of this life. We reap what we sow. Jesus gave the great commission, a command to go about planting seeds of the gospel.
