The phrase ‘go in peace’ appears several times in scripture where that benediction proclaiming peace is as the Hebrew “Shalom”. It may have a similar intent as using the word “goodbye”. Goodbye is a contraction of “God be with ye” which conveys a blessing, like a prayer or hope that the other person will travel safely. I’ve read that to ‘go in peace’ used in the new testament may refer to the anticipated peaceful rule of Christ.

It is easy to sit back, stay with the usual activities, by habit, accepting the current situation, the way things are now, content with the “status quo”. You’re not a rock, designed to just sit there stagnant, not moving, or like a bump on a log but we are to ‘git up and grow’.

Water is important! A person can live without food for about one or two months but can live without water for only a few days. Due to the fact that our bodies and much of plant and animals on this earth require water, it is recognized as representing “life”. It can also bring to mind ‘refreshment’ and it has spiritual implications.

Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

As our country and most of the world has dealt with the Virus and continues to reel from it’s affects, we are reminded of how frail we are. And in the midst of all of the uncertainty in this world and its systems hopefully, we realize how great our God is. Indeed, He is ‘large and in charge’.

As God’s creation, as His adopted children, as Spirit filled, born again little Christs we have the privilege and obligation to bear fruit in our lives. Here are just a few reasons that we can and should.

When was the last time you considered the many blessings of God on you and your life? The term “blessed” or blessed in scripture can mean happy or happiness. For God to place a ‘blessing’ is to convey that happiness with a time frame that could be blessings for generations.

Each of us have a Circle Of Friends. Just think about some of yours. Friends are vital to a healthy life, spiritually and physically. A true friend loves at all times. We learn and grow as we interact with friends.  Fellowship and friendship make us better than we would be alone.

What does the phrase “In Jesus’ Name” really mean? For many it is something attached at the end of their prayer out of habit. To others it is a way to make their prayer request official as if to guaranty that it will make it happen. And to some, it is associated with the authority of Jesus as if it were Jesus actually doing it.

Oops, I did it again, failed to obey His word, to rest in Him. Dear listening friend, we all fall, lacking faith. Even after all God has done for us time and time again and is doing for us even now! Let's look at Peter, walking on the water.
