2023 reporting by reporter Dan Shalin of “The Patch”, a local online news outlet. Dan reported that two of the three female officers have made formal complaints about N. Andover Police Chief Charles Gray, “North Andover police Sgt. Katherine Gehrke has filed a lawsuit against Police Chief Charles Gray and the Town of North Andover in which Gehrke claims she has been subjected to a pattern and practice of sexual harassment, retaliation and gender discrimination”. This department hired former Salem State Police Officer Matt Van Horn who is named in a 2025 lawsuit by female 911 Dispatcher at Salem State, along with the entire command LE hierarchy at Salem State.
