Calls For Clare Emergency Department In New Programme For Govt

Clare's opposition TD insists the new coalition must enshrine commitments on a second MidWest Emergency Department and a targeted approach to the housing crisis in their programme for government.
The make up of the ruling parties of the 34th Dáil is all but complete, with Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and the Regional Independents finally reaching an agreement.
The full programme for government, which is expected to be published in full today, will essentially outline all the targets and projects the coalition will aim to deliver over the next Dáil term.
The programme will have to first be ratified by Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil party members though and they'll hold internal votes in the coming days.
The Regional Independents make up the third faction in government, following the promise of two Super Junior ministries, with the Healy-Rae brothers expected to join the grouping.
Michael Healy-Rae is expecting to be named a Minister of State.
When the Dáil reconvenes next Wednesday, the first order of business will be to vote for the new Taoiseach.
Micheál Martin, as leader of the largest party, is expected to get the position for three years, with Simon Harriss getting it for the remainder of the term.
After this, senior cabinet positions will be assigned.
Clare Fianna Fáil TD Cathal Crowe says everything is still on the table.
