Denial of self is much more than just physical denial. When we “take up our cross” we are giving Him complete control of the steering wheel in our life. We are removing the limits on what God can and will do through us as we submit ourselves to Him on the potter’s wheel.

Simon Peter, seems to write his epistles at the later years of his life. He seems to address the entire Christian audience. His letters seem to be ones of encouragement, instruction, and admonition. In writing this epistle, Peter obeys three commands given to him by Jesus: 1. Encourage the flock of God; 2. Strengthen the flock of God; and 3. Feed the flock of God.
