When we look at scripture, we can see that God has been with and for mankind all the time from Creation until this present day. Not one word of His promise has failed. God is on our side. God did not call us out of the world to leave us. But He brought us out to bring us in. God is leading in the fight and we will be victorious through Him. God is not against us, He is for us.

One of the things about being a Christian and walking in this way is that we must be careful. The word careful can take on many meanings: Cautious, Vigilant, Meticulous, Prudent, Watchful; But none like making sure of avoiding potential danger, and mishap or harm. Prior to entering the promised Land, Moses warned the children of Israel that they should be aware and be careful that they do not forget God.

Deception stands as the order for the end times; however, a love for God's Word will protect the child of God and prevent a diversion from truth.

When the angel Gabriel appeared to Zechariah in the temple to tell him of the birth of John the Baptist, he lists four things that he would do: “And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” (Luke 1:17) These same principles must be in every born-again believe today. We must have the spirit of Elijah, ready to go and share the good news of the gospel.

The writer mentions four reasons for writing the epistles. To add to their joy; to guard them against sin; to warn them against false teachers; and to strengthen their faith in Christ and to ensure them of eternal life.
