The word ‘come’ is a verb. Verbs are action words which means that we must act or do something. When Peter cried out to Jesus, “ Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.” Jesus said, “Come.” Notice that now Peter had to act un the call to come. He had to go toward Jesus. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. When Jesus bids us come, we too must act and not delay.

Every aspect of Paul’s ministry and the ministry and life of every faithful disciple and follower was based solely on the example that Jesus Christ left His disciples and the world to follow. Even Jesus Himself was a follower of the specific will of His heavenly Father. Jesus acknowledged that everything He did was directed by and done according to the will of the Father.
