One of the greatest challenges for many believers is to get to a point that they truly trust and believe in God’s ability to do what He says. Scripture shows us that many of the healings and miracles done in peoples’ lives were done the moment they believed in Jesus’ ability to do them. We must get to the point of believing that Jesus will.

Meriam-Webster defines Practical as: relating to or manifested in practice or action. The object of the apostle James is to describe what enters essentially into religion; and what it will do when it is properly developed. The phrase “pure religion” means that which is genuine and sincere, or which is free from any improper mixture; that which God sees to be pure and undefiled.

Our giving unto the Lord and His kingdom should be an indicator of our spiritual growth. We should never have to be asked to give our tithe and offering unto the Lord. When we give willingly, freely, and cheerfully we recognize that it is a part of worship. And when we give from the heart, not grudgingly or of necessity, God is well pleased.

Do you ever ask yourself why out of all the people in the world, God chose you? Do you wonder why your employer chose you over someone else for the job? What would you do if you knew that your selection for the job had nothing to do with your qualifications, but it was God behind the process to place you there to be a witness for Him at this time? Have others started to open-up to you about their situation and life and asked for your opinion? Do you find others gathering around your more? As Mordecai told Esther, “Who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

Because of the children of Israel’s disobedience, God delivered them into the hands of the Midianites for seven years, but Gideon was chosen to deliver them. However, because of his fear and lack of faith, he was hiding behind the winepress. The winepress is seen as a place of excuses for why you can’t do what God has called you to do. Disobedience can destroy one’s faith and put them behind the winepress.
