Water From the Rock - Exodus 17-Water From the Rock - Exodus 17-The path of faith is the path of trial. The Lord led the children of Israel with a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. Yet, when trials came, they quickly forgot His leading and doubted His care.

Suffering Disgrace for His Name - Acts 5- 12-42-The early church was expanding rapidly, but not without Satanic opposition. The attacks came from -the rulers of darkness of this age- -Ephesians 6-13- and from the fleshly lusts of the church's own members -Ananias and Sapphira-. The Holy Spirit was empowering the Apostles to preach boldly. The collision with the enemies of Christ was inevitable.

The Miracle of Manna - Exodus 16-The children of Israel were sustained in the wilderness for forty years by the mighty hand of God. Our Lord supplied them with -miracle food- in a barren land every day.

Barnabas, Ananias and Sapphira - Acts 4-32-5-11-The early church had met the opposition of the world with prayer and humility. They were granted signs and wanders by the Holy Spirit to proclaim the name of the Lord Jesus Christ with boldness -vs.30,31-. Now, we see Satan working his evil not only from without, but now, from within. Luke, the inspired historian, gives us a study in contrast of the Holy Spirit working in the lives of believers and Satan working to disrupt and destroy that work.

The early Church was born in prayer and prayer was a characteristic of its existence -2-42-. When Jesus trained the apostles, He warned them there would be great opposition to the Gospel. He promised He would never leave or forsake them. As prophesied, persecution had come. Peter and John had been incarcerated and threatened with violence if they continued to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Upon their release they went to -their own- -v.23- to report the dangers the Church would face. The Church responded by doing what their Savior had commanded. They prayed. This first recorded prayer is a great example of how we should approach our Lord in fervent prayer.

The Song of Moses in chapter 15 of Exodus is the first and oldest psalm in the Bible. It is a precursor of Moses and the Song of the Redeemed that is given in the book of Deuteronomy and will be sung in heaven -Revelation 5-. Be with us tonight as we continue our series in Exodus. Through Faith in His Name-Acts 3- 12-26--The miracle at the Beautiful Gate had amazed the crowds in the Temple. The people -ran together- to Peter and John who were on the large concourse called -Solomon's Porch. Peter used this opportunity to preach Jesus.
