Scripture: Habakkuk 1-3.
In this season of global challenges, how do you perceive and understand a sovereign God and His plans. Drawing a case study from Habakuk chapters 1-3.
Scripture: Matthew 7:24-27
What are you building your life on? Or rather what is your foundation? You will either find yourself building your life on the word of God or you will find yourself building your life on the things of this world. ‘What is your life build on’ is an important question to ask because the scripture says - Those who build their life upon the word of God will spend eternity with Him. But, those who build their life upon the pleasures of this world will not be able to stand when the storms hit because the foundation is weak and hence will fall apart. So then, what is your life built on?
Luke 5:27-32
Despite writing one of the largest books in the New Testament, there is very little known about Mathew the Apostle. The response of Mathew to the call of Jesus came at a great personal loss and teaches us to treasure Christ above all. Can anything be too great a sacrifice for a savior who restores us sinners, with a Holy God? Can we love him and make him known?
Scripture: 2 Peter 1: 1-11
Most Christians want to grow in the Lord, especially when they are new in the faith. But often, as time goes on, the enthusiasm to grow begins to fade. We settle into a humdrum routine and grow spiritually complacent. We know that growth is important, and we know that it is the normal result of life. Just as physical life results in physical growth, in the same manner our spiritual life should result in spiritual growth. How then, must we as believers strive for Spiritual Growth? How do we grow in every part of our lives?
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:20-23
The resurrection of Jesus is the principal tenet of the New Testament. Baptism is centered in Jesus' resurrection. The resurrection culminates the passion narrative in all four Gospels because it is at the center of redemption itself. But what does the resurrection of Jesus mean to us as believers?
Scripture: Philemon 1
We often struggle to forgive those who have hurt us, and even when we do, is it by the standards that God expects from us? The epistle to Philemon, a short personal letter from Paul to Philemon, is a wonderful practical lesson on forgiveness. While the world teaches us to take revenge & get even, the Bible teaches us to "Forgive as the Lord forgave you" – Colossians 3:13 But how do we do that? Do we have the spiritual characteristics to be a forgiver? What are the steps involved in forgiving others the way our Lord Jesus Christ forgave us?
Scripture: 2 Timothy 4:6-8
Becoming a Christian is relatively easy: acknowledge to God that you are a sinner and receive by faith the free gift of eternal life that Christ provided by His shed blood. But then comes the hard part—hanging in there as a Christian in a world that is hostile towards God and His people. The world constantly dangles in front of you all that it has to offer in opposition to the things of God. From within, the flesh entices you to forsake Christ and gratify your sinful desires. The enemy hits you with temptation after temptation.Let’s face it: starting well is relatively easy. Finishing well is a different matter! How do we, as believers stay strong and keep ourselves pure in world chock-full of sin? What should be the driving factor that keeps us motivated?
Scripture: Ephesians 3:14-21
In Ephesians 3:14-21, we see Paul showing us what it is like to pray in view of God’s greatness, and our human need. Corrie Ten Boom said ‘Prayer is supposed to be the steering wheel, not the spare tyre! When we look at the early church , they seemed to recognize there desperation for God. They had no great human resources. They weren’t influential. They weren’t really strategic. But they were desperate for the Spirit of God to work mightily. Paul asks the readers to know the Lord better. We need the Holy Spirit’s power to transform our inner bring because that’s the only way our outward being like our habits, actions, our responses can be truly transformed. Are we praying in humility? Are we praying to be filled with his Strength, Love and Power as Paul wanted the church at Ephesus to pray? Are we praying with great expectations from a great God?
Scripture: 2 Peter 3:14-18
Many followers of Jesus tend to walk confused and defeated lives after they are born again. They walk discouraged and distracted lives. How can a believer not be distracted by erroneous teaching or ways of the world? How can one possess the life of abundance and peace that Jesus promised in the midst of all storms? What are believers called to to do while here on earth, after they are born again? What are they supposed to progress to and what is the process for it?
