King David over Israel. This man, 30 years old. He has proven himself as a man of faith for years. He is not without weakness. (The scripture doesn't hide this) He is a man of faith, as God Himself said: "He is a man after my own heart." This chapter out of the life of King David shows his faith in God-not his own abilities. So important to any person wanting to "walk by faith", as we are told to do. Point of the application: "Are you doing it all for Him or for you and your glory?"
