Saul disobeys God's commandment in favor of pleasing the people. Samuel confronts Saul's disobedience. 

Paul names the various gifts of the Holy Spirit and teaches that they are given as the Spirit wills. 

Paul begins instructing the Corinthian church on the gifts of the Holy Spirit, explaining that all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for the common good. 

Paul instructs the Corinthian church on the meaning and purpose of Communion, the Lord's Supper. He also gives instruction on how public worship should reflect the nature and character of Christ.

Samuel addresses the people after their victory over the Amonites. Saul is recognized universally as the King over Israel as anointed by God. Samuel exhorts Israel to "fear the Lord and serve Him and obey His voice, and do not rebel against the commandment of the Lord."
