Samuel visits Bethlehem as directed by God to seek out God's chosen king. There he finds the family of Jesse and Jesse's youngest son, David, tending the sheep. 

Paul continues his instructions on the Holy Spirit, explaining that there is one Spirit and one Body composed of many gifts. 

Saul disobeys God's commandment in favor of pleasing the people. Samuel confronts Saul's disobedience. 

Paul names the various gifts of the Holy Spirit and teaches that they are given as the Spirit wills. 

Paul begins instructing the Corinthian church on the gifts of the Holy Spirit, explaining that all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for the common good.
