Prayer Week Day 1

This message is week 2 of our 4-week series "Come Follow Me”. We are focusing on what it means to follow Jesus in our everyday lives. This message emphasizes building a Christ-centered community, overcoming personal struggles with God's help, and letting go of worldly attachments to follow Jesus in freedom.

The end of Chapter 6 tells the story of how Rahab and her family were shown favor by God because she demonstrated faith, as she hid the spies from danger. In Chapter 7, we learn how the disobedience of one man, Achan, led to the death of his family, and the death of 36 men from the army fighting against Ai.

Let’s start this New Year by making our relationship with Jesus the main focus in our lives. As we grow closer to Him by spending time in the Word and Gathering to Worship, we will be ready for whatever 2025 may bring our way!

A new year always brings with it uncertainties and challenges that we will have to navigate. As believers, we must trust in Gods power and promises, even amidst these unknown circumstances. This weekend will be a reminder that if we stand firm, we can rely on God and watch His deliverance.

As we prepare our hearts for celebrating Jesus’ birth, we will learn lessons from Mary’s life in Luke 1. We will see how she trusted God’s promises, stepped out in faith, worshipped sincerely, and lived humbly.

In 2 Timothy 4, Paul's gives his last recorded words in this message “Finishing the Race”. We see the importance of preaching the Word, enduring hardships, and completing the ministry entrusted to us, regardless of opposition. We will also study what to do when people wrong us.

In Joshua 5-6, Israel’ faith and obedience are tested as they face their first obstacle in the promised land, the walled city of Jerico. This story is a great example of God going before us to fight our battles.
