In the last half of 2 Timothy 3 we see Paul encouraging Timothy with the importance of scripture and how it equips us in righteous living. We will study why we can trust God’s Word for us and how to endure hardships and persecutions because of the Gospel.

In this special service, we will be inspired to give thanks to our God by hearing how He has provided hope in times of despair.

Last week we talked about spiritually detoxifying our lives. This week, we’ll study the first 9 verses of 2 Timothy 3 to learn exactly what to remove, things that have no place in the life of a Christ follower.

After miraculously crossing the Jordan river in Joshua 4, God instructs the children of Israel to set up a memorial for all generations as a reminder how He guided them. Joshua was then instructed that the young men be circumcised and to celebrate the Passover after neglecting these rites while wandering in the wilderness for 40 years. God was calling His people back to practicing the priority of enjoying their relationship with Him.

As we finish the last half of 2 Timothy 2, we will learn about “spiritually detoxing” from certain things that can keep us from being the special vessel for His service. We will also learn what to build it’s place as we seek to live God’s Word in our everyday lives.

In Joshua 3, we’ll see Israel finally cross the Jordan river. In our story, we study how and why entering “God’s rest” required strong faith.

This week as we study 2 Timothy 2:1-13 we will learn 5 principles for being “Faithful to the End”. We will also be challenged and inspired by a powerful testimony from someone who is finding purpose in their suffering.
