This weekend, we arrive at one of the most beautiful passages in the entire Bible and one of the clearest pictures of who Jesus is. Together, we’ll marvel at what he’s done, what we have in him, and how we should respond.

As we study Genesis Chapter 34, we’ll learn that our compromises will eventually lead to consequences. We’ll also clearly see that “two wrongs don’t make a right”.

As we study the second half of Philippians 1 we will study principles for finding “Purpose in the Pain”. We will learn three keys for experiencing joy no matter the circumstances of life.

Tonight we will study Genesis 33, and conclude the story of Jacob and Esau. The question we are asking ourselves tonight is this: Is He “a God” or “My God”.

Have you ever been failed by others? Have you ever failed others? Today, as we begin a new series in the book of Philippians, we will see an example of an amazing spiritual leader, and how God calls us to have the heart of a shepherd, even when we aren’t perfect.

Genesis Chapter 32 has two great reminders: 1. If we want to personally encounter God, we must “move on” from the world. 2. Instead of fighting with God, we should willingly let go of our “old self”.

Genesis Chapter 31 focuses on three main things: The importance of 1.) our character, 2.) keeping our word, and 3.) how we respond to mistreatment. We’ll also learn to have a healthy fear of the Lord.

As we continue to study the story of Jonah, we discover the second chance that God gave Jonah. As RT Kendall says, “The belly of the fish is not a happy place to live, but it is a good place to learn.”

Genesis Chapter 30 teaches us great lessons about coveting, rivalry, and selfish gain. We’ll also learn that God’s plans can’t be thwarted and that His promises are always fulfilled.
