If you listen to a lot of pastors out there, you would get the idea that God is like a genie that we carry around in a bottle to call upon whenever we have a need in our lives. And if He doesn’t meet our needs when we want, the way we want, then we’re ready to toss Him aside. In today’s text, Jude is going to warn us against becoming people who view God as nothing more than “a […]

Voltaire, the famous French atheist, one time was asked by a like-minded skeptic to speak a word of comfort to a friend who was dying. Voltaire responded, “I don’t think I can do that. The thought of hell plagues me continually!” Even an unbeliever like Voltaire knew deep down inside that he was on “the road to perdition.” But there are many people who claim to be believers who have duped themselves into believing that they are on the road […]

J. Vernon McGee had this to say about the great apostasy in the church today: “It’s an inside job. The betrayal of Christ has always been an inside job. But even sheep are “more than conquerors” when the Lord is with us. In today’s text, Jude will warn us about heretics (wolves) who have crept in […]

I don’t know about you, but I love to eat fig preserves. I don’t know exactly how they are made or just what ingredients are required by the recipe. All I know is that they are yummy to taste. In today’s lesson, Jude is going to tell us that as Christians we are being preserved for Jesus Christ by Jesus Christ. I don’t have to figure out exactly how He does it. My job in the process is to just […]
