This chapter begins with an interesting debate amongst the disciples about who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Jesus turns the focus to humility and does so by calling a little child to his side. With a child as a model of standing and importance, Jesus goes on to warn the listeners about sin and the value of every human soul.

Continuing in 1 Corinthians 12, Pastor Lloyd reveals another dimension of the Holy Spirit where gifts are used to encourage, instruct and ultimately to grow one another. How do faith and healing intersect? Have you wondered about Paul's thorn in the flesh for which he prayed three times? How should we respond when God doesn't heal? Do you ever wonder if you lack faith? This third part in the series goes deeper into gifts of healing and the role of faith in trials.

This teaching begins with a cry for mercy from a father for his demon-possessed son. Jesus casts out the demon. The disciples, however, were unable and they ask Jesus why. Jesus' answer provides a warning; we must be aware of the evils of our age to overcome the doubts and fears that threaten to crush us. Then our faith can blossom and grow. Fasting plays an important role in the process as it not only strengthens us but also reveals how strong the flesh really is.

Here, Pastor Lloyd takes a look at the diversity of gifts as taught in 1 Corinthians 12, and the person and power of the Holy Spirit, not limited in one place as Jesus was, but with us always as Jesus promised. Here, we learn how the Holy Spirit continues the work that Christ began, accomplished through and in His people, and through our giftings. Jesus' public ministry has now turned to training of his disciples who are learning that there is a high cost to true discipleship. These are serious lessons that are important for every Believer to know as we learn to deny ourselves and take up our cross and follow Jesus.

"I do not want you to be ignorant concerning spiritual gifts", begins First Corinthians chapter twelve and Pastor Lloyd's fifth part in this series on the Holy Spirit. Living a dynamic life as a Believer demands transformation by the Holy Spirit, the paraclete who comes alongside to instruct and advocate for us. Drawing from Acts and First Corinthians, this teaching will help you identify your own spiritual gifts and how to practice them.

Jesus has moved on to yet another region where the Pharisees and Sadducees have come again hoping to trap him and asking for a sign from heaven. Jesus' response exposes them and reveals their own blindness and lack of discernment. Following this, Jesus directs an important question to his disciples: who do you say that I am? It's a timeless question every individual must settle in their hearts.

Jesus has withdrawn from the area of opposition and goes to another area where a Canaanite woman comes to him, crying out for mercy for her demon-possessed daughter. Pastor Lloyd provides some interesting backdrop about this woman and the culture from which she comes. Jesus commends and rewards her for her faith. Large crowds continue to follow with many healings and the feeding of four thousand.

Without the Holy Spirit, we are a great source of unused power. Continuing in this fourth part on the The Work of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Lloyd invites us to become part of the bigger masterpiece orchestrated by the Holy Spirit. He is the one who brings together all the disparate and disconnected life-elements we don't understand. God's part is to fill us: our part is to yield as the Lord of the Harvest, the Holy Spirit, lets nothing be wasted. It is through the power of the Holy Spirit that the prayers of the saints are woven together to accomplish the greater work of God the Father. This is the work of the Spirit in and upon us.
