Today we step into Genesis 49, where Jacob’s final prophetic words reveal both character and destiny. His blessings show God’s sovereignty working through imperfect people, reminding us that His purposes still speak powerfully into our lives today.

Leading up to James 2:14 James has spoken about listening and doing the word of God, not showing favoritism, and that love for Him is shown through our obedience. Every day we hear people talk about their faith but notice there is no action to it. This weekend, we will see how to live out a real saving faith.

Thanksgiving is a continual expression of gratitude to God, a constant reminder of His provision in every season, a declaration of our trust in His unchanging character, and a daily lifestyle marked by praise, humility, and wholehearted worship. Thanksgiving is meant to be a lifestyle.

Today we see God hold fast to his covenant with Abraham by protecting his people and blessing their future.

At Calvary we have many missionaries that we support overseas. Many times, when we say Missions, we automatically think overseas. Tonight, we will spend time praying for our Missionaries and Exploring ways we can do missions work both overseas and right here at home.

Life often brings new challenges, moves, and uncertainties. In Genesis 46–47:12, Jacob’s family leaves home for Egypt, unsure of what awaits them, yet they experience God’s faithful guidance, provision, and restoration. Through every transition, we can trust that God is working for our good.

Paul is on his 3rd missionary journey and comes to Ephesus where he finds some disciples who are lacking a knowledge and understanding of the Holy Spirit. As we go through Acts 19, we see the difference in someone living a life filled with the Spirit and a life that is not. Quickly it becomes obvious that the only life worth living is one guided by the Holy Spirit.

After 20 plus years Joseph will finally reveal himself to his family. Joseph doesn’t seek revenge for what his brothers did, he seeks to reconcile with and take care of them. We witness Gods plan carried out and how he took this family from brokenness to Victory through repentance and forgiveness.

Apollos’ journey shows how humble hearts grow through God’s grace and boldly share the truth about Jesus. True growth comes when grace shapes our passion into purpose.

Today we learn through the example of Joseph’s brothers that sometimes God will let us go through hard times to lead us to repentance and bring us closer to him.
