There is NO question that there IS a God in heaven and He is good! Daniel knew it and was willing to stake his earthly life on that truth. Daniel's is a story of prophesy and trust.

Ezekiel's prophesies were of great significance to the Israelites in 605BC and they foretold of events in the near future, the future time of Jesus and of times beyond even that. God used Ezekiel to relay His message of a future for Israel and for us.

Sometimes serving on a mission for the Lord requires moving elsewhere, learning a new language or understanding a new culture to be able to relate the Gospel to non-believers. Ezekiel didn't have any of these, as his was a mission to his own people, yet it was an important mission to us.

The term "beside oneself" is akin to being crazy. They thought Paul was "beside himself" by wanting to return to the town where he was beaten and left for dead. But he did it for the people who beat him, as he knew they needed to be saved. Some might say he wasn't of sound mind, but he was. Pastor Jim discusses what this passage means to us in this day and age.
