On the Jewish festival (The Feast of Pentecost), Jesus sent the promise of the Holy Spirit to those who were gathered together in The Upper Room.

Pentecost is symbolic of the harvest.

In the Old Testament it represented bringing in the harvest of grain.

In the New Testament it represents bringing in the harvest of souls.

The Holy Spirit wants to help us. But not only for ourselves, but for the benefit of others.

To give us the power & boldness to tell people about Jesus.

Before Jesus ascended, He promised to send ‘another helper’ (The Holy Spirit) to dwell WITH and IN His followers.

Pastor Benny concludes our series by talking about the events of The Ascension.

Jesus showed His resurrected body with many convincing proofs during the 40 days between The Resurrection and The Ascension.

He did so His followers would know without a doubt He was the Messiah.

They wanted Him to establish His Kingdom on the Earth, but He was going to use them (through the power of the Holy Spirit) to spread the Gospel to the World.

Jesus’ last command should be our first concern.

Peter was one of Jesus’ closest disciples.

After declaring his allegiance to Jesus, Peter ends up denying Him three times.

The third time, he invoked a curse on himself.

But after his encounter with resurrected Jesus, Peter was restored.

The power of his encounter reversed the curse.

Peter went on to be one of the influential leaders of the Early Church.

Later on Resurrection Day, Jesus came upon two of His followers who were traveling from Jerusalem to Emmaus.

They were sad & hopeless - even telling Jesus (they didn’t recognize Him) about the events and how they had hoped Jesus was the Messiah, but it appears He was just another prophet who died.

While on the walk, Jesus showed them in the scriptures how the Messiah would have to suffer such things.

He showed Himself as the fulfillment of the scriptures & prophecies.

Once He opened their eyes spiritually, their physically eyes were opened too.

Their encounter with Jesus caused the hearts to burn with renewed spiritual passion.

Luke 24:13-35

Jesus encountered 500 people after His resurrection. 

Those encounters would life-altering & direction-setting. 

This week, Pastor Benny looks at Thomas.Known as “Doubting Thomas” based on one moment of doubt & questions. 

He was actually brave & courageous even before Jesus’ crucifixion. 

But once he had an eyewitness encounter with resurrected-Jesus, He was all-in!

Eventually he would lay down his life because of his devotion to Jesus
