October 01, 2023 Never An Ornamental Extra - Exodus 3:13-4:17
Title: Never An Ornamental Extra
Speaker: Nate Holdridge
Text: Exodus 3:13-4:17
Exodus Theme: The holy God wants us to know him and experience his presence, but we must first exit unholy bondage and enter holy servitude.
Overview: In our passage today, God appears to Moses as discontent to be thought of as an ornamental extra. He is meant to be at the center of his people, the focus of our lives. He is all that we are not. He is altogether sufficient—our "ever-present and ever-present interventionist for good."1 He is inexhaustibly enough; originates the great reversal humanity needs; is the ultimate power of powers, even the power of death; and is the sovereign Lord who works out his plans—and he longs to be at the center of our lives.

September 24, 2023 People Who Experience God's Exodus - Exodus 2:11-3:12
Title: People Who Experience God's Exodus
Speaker: Nate Holdridge
Text: Exodus 2:11 - 3:12
Exodus Theme: The holy God wants us to know him and experience his presence, but we must first exit unholy bondage and enter holy servitude.
Overview: So God is the God of exodus—he is always at work to bring us out of "Egypts" in order to bring us into himself. In our passage today, we have thought about the person God uses to create that exodus. They are humble, outside the world system, live in the fear of the Lord, and are empowered by God for their task.

September 17, 2023 His Presence - Exodus 1:1 - 2:10
Title: His Presence
Speaker: Nate Holdridge
Text: Exodus 1:1 - 2:10
Exodus Theme: The holy God wants us to know him and experience his presence, but we must first exit unholy bondage and enter holy servitude.
Overview: This simple outline helps inform our theme for studying the book: Knowing God. This, after all, was God's aim. He did not want to set Israel free just so they could be free, but so they might serve him. Through Moses to Pharaoh, God often said, "Let me people go, that they may serve me" (Ex. 5:1, 7:16, 8:1, 9:1, etc.).
