Welcome to the 5th episode of Campus Conversations at WWU! This episode is all about food: how to create a healthy relationship with food, how we use it to express culture and build community, and what are the barriers and access as college students.

In our fourth episode of Campus Conversations, we explore student perspectives, scientific research, and harm reduction strategies around cannabis. We feature mini-interviews with students at WWU, and our special guest is Dr. Josh Kaplan, Associate Professor of Behavioral Neuroscience at WWU, who shares insights into the effects of cannabis on the brain.

In our third episode of Campus Conversations, we look at what makes a healthy relationship—from friendships to romantic relationships, sexual relationships, and family relationships. We’ll take a deeper dive into ways to make new connections, ways to approach conflict resolution, and ways to practice consent. We feature mini-interviews with students at WWU, and our special guest is Deidre Evans, Survivor Advocacy Services Coordinator in the Counseling and Wellness Center.

In our second episode of Campus Conversations, we talk all about stress—how students at WWU experience stress, resources at WWU to manage stress, how stress shows up in our bodies, and strategies to build stress resilience. We feature mini-interviews with students at WWU, and our special guest is Madison Wiese, Community Well-being Specialist with the Counseling and Wellness Center, who explores the physiology of stress in depth.

In our first episode of Campus Conversations, we talk with Liz Stuart, Assistant Director of Outreach and Health Promotion with the Counseling and Wellness Center, about the Wellness Advocates volunteer program—what we do and how you can join or take advantage of these resources if you’re interested.  Applications for the 2024-2025 cohort are due May 17 at cwc.wwu.edu/apply.
