Can Penn State secure its first win against a Big Ten team this week? That's what we're discussing on the BWI Live Wednesday show. The Nittany Lions face the Michigan State Spartans on Saturday at 3:30 in the team's race for bowl eligibility. We'll dive into the matchups and players that will help decide the game this weekend and discuss what challenges the Spartans present to Penn State on film. It's also a transition time of the year where winter sports are starting to ramp up. We'll touch on the latest basketball, wrestling, and other news from around the athletic department this week.

Penn State news and Notes 

We'll start the show discussing the latest Penn State news outside of the football program. As the season begins to wind down, recruits in the class of 2026 are looking for a new place to land. There were two more commitment flips this week that we'll discuss on today's show. We'll also highlight big takeaways from Wrestling Media Day, and the men's basketball team's latest victory. 

Next, we'll discuss the state of the Penn State quarterback room. This week, interim head coach Terry Smith said that the program found its quarterback of the future in Ethan Grunkemeyer. Is that true? Reporter Greg Pickel examines the position heading into the uncertain future for the team with a new head coach on the horizon. 

Finally, we'll end the first half of today's show by doing a quick practice preview of what we're hoping to see tonight when the Nittany Lions open up the facility for our weekly 10 minutes of viewing. 

Draftable stock up date and MSU Preview 

Next, we'll dig into the upcoming game between Michigan State and Penn State. Who has the edge when the Lions have the ball? Which team has the advantage on defense? We'll break down the upcoming matchup between the two teams on today's show. 

Finally, we'll spend the second half of the show discussing the players with an NFL future after this season. Whether its juniors who can leave early or seniors in their final three games, we'll update the draft stock of veterans on the team who have put up film for the NFL to evaluate this winter and spring. We'll separate the most notable players into stock up, down and holding patterns.
