The Penn State Nittany Lions football team faces off against the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday at 7 pm. The team is 4-6 and hopes to keep its postseason bowl berth realities alive for another week with a win. However, the news off the field is coming at the team fast and furious, with former head coach James Franklin's introduction at Virginia Tech on Wednesday. We're discussing the recruiting fallout from the moves, plus giving our score predictions for the upcoming game on today's BWI Live Recruiting Show.

Penn State staffing and recruiting update

Yesterday, we announced the news that six of Penn State's support staff had left the program to join Franklin at Virginia Tech. Today, we'll discuss the move with recruiting reporters Ryan Snyder and Sean Fitz. What sort of impact will these moves have on the program? What did those staffers do in the first place? We'll discuss how their absence will change things for Smith and his staff. 

Next, we'll dig into the gritty business of Penn State recruiting news. The team has just 11 commits left in the Class of 2026 after several high-profile decommitments in the last seven days. We'll review which players have committed elsewhere, and which ones are heading to Blacksburg for an official visit with Franklin this weekend. 

Finally, we'll end with some good news about the one player who has stayed resolutely committed to Penn State through the transition. 

Game day recruiting and Nebraska preview 

Finally, we'll discuss what fans can expect from the final game day in Happy Valley this coming weekend. Will the team host any commits? Is that even possible with the staff changes? 

Then, we'll discuss the on-field matchup between Nebraska and Penn State at 7 pm. Penn State is riding high after its first win under Smith, the team's interim head coach, and is hosting a Nebraska team that also lacks its starting quarterback. Is that enough to push the Nittany Lions over the top of the higher-ranked team? We'll discuss the key matchups on both sides of the ball and then give our score predictions to end the show.
