In this week's episode we talk about the elephant in the room: covid burnout. With many Americans still living without healthcare, and the medical community taking both a physical and emotional beating, the health of Rhode Islanders and Americans at large is on the minds of many. In this episode Jen and Moira talk about how dire things are getting and how poorly this portends for the future of our healthcare system and those who depend on it. This week Jen and Moira talk about the new Governor's poll numbers. They talk about what NOT to do with ARPA money and how specific you have to be with our state's politicians. They introduce us to a depressing new game and Moira gets to do her very favorite thing: tell everyone she was right. It's definitely you. As women, we have done unpaid emotional and physical labor our entire lives. And because we're women, we've been making like 80 cents on the dollar. Well, not today, Satan. We talk a big game about socialism, but today? Today we are capitalists baby, and our emotional invoice is going out to you. This last year has been a wild ride, and if you want that ride to keep on chugging; then it's like the old adage says, "Gas, grass, or ass. Nobody rides for free." Ok, scratch that. DO NOT try to offer us a hot date in lieu of what we really want: money. Pony up. Can We Fix It is playing HARDBALL today.

You guys asked and we delivered. After hearing that the Thunderdome episode required a "PhD in Rhody Twitter," we decided to bring you a decoder episode. For those of you who are long-standing fans of the pod, a lot of this will be a review. For those of you just getting into Rhode Island politics, this episode should serve as a good cheat sheet into the who's who of the ocean state's politicos. We cover everything from the newest gubernatorial candidate, to the latest twitter beefs broiling. Grab a drink, put on your finest kimono and saddle up for one wild ride.

This week on can we fix it, we have facilitated a Democratic thunderdome. We organized representatives from each wing of the party to officially duke it out over the topics that have been heating up your Twitter feeds. We cover everything from the Senate district 3 race to the ire over the co-op. Tune in to find out who is the one true democrat.

There are a billion candidates but there can only be one GUBERNATOR. In this episode, we cover all the candidates for Governor: the good, the bad and the ugly. We agree on some candidates and HARD disagree on others but tune in to hear our spooky-accurate prediction on who ISN'T going to win.

Progressivism is a word that gets thrown around a LOT these days. This week, we are joined by our delightful producer Greg Brailsford and all three of us try to explain what the word really means. As it turns out , there is a really easy metric to figure out if someone is really pro-progress: it's called their voting record. Tune in and calm yourself as we try to explain that your "progressive" heroes doing leadership's bidding are doing more harm to the movement than good.
