Only two months before THE GODFATHER made him a household name, Coppola executive produced a TV pilot called THE PEOPLE, which starred Kim Darby (TRUE GRIT) and William Shatner (STAR TREK) as city folk who stumble across a town of, more-or-less, superpowered Amish people. Yes. Really.

THE PEOPLE never made it past the pilot episode, but was it really... CANCELED TOO SOON? Film critics William Bibbiani and Witney Seibold take a trip to this mysterious community where kazoos dance in mid-air, Vogue magazines are verboten, and William Shatner gives the most natural performance in the whole ensemble!
