Maria Marroquin is a two times cancer survivor. Initially, She started having itchiness all over her body. At first, she thought it was an allergy. She started taking treatment for the same. One of the doctors even asked her to consult a psychologist. She then began having bruises all over her body, and finally, the doctors diagnosed it as Stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She underwent chemotherapy, but the chemo drug was not working well. So she started with another drug. In April 2020, she did a PET scan, and Maria was cleared of Cancer. One day she had a fall, and her knee got hurt. She could not walk anymore, and during further tests, a large tumour was diagnosed in her Spine. This time, she also underwent 15 cycles of radiation therapy and a Bone Marrow transplant. It was tough for her to think about losing her hair. But, her boyfriend and family were very supportive. Her boyfriend, currently her husband, even shaved his hair off. After radiotherapy, she started again with chemotherapy. She started walking again. There were financial troubles for the treatment. Her friends helped her, but it was not enough. Finally, with all the support from her family and friends, she emerged victoriously.

Dilpreet is a Breast Cancer survivor. She initially noticed a lump while she was breastfeeding her kid one day. On further tests, it was diagnosed as Stage 3A Breast cancer. She underwent Double Mastectomy, 16 cycles of chemotherapy and 25 cycles of radiation therapy as a part of the treatment. Dilpreet had a supportive family and friends throughout her cancer journey. Dilpreet says, " Women prioritize yourself first. Take rest and do things you love. Let your responsibilities does not define you."

Mahesh Mohan is a Hodgkins Lymphoma Survivor. Five years back, he had a spinal injury. After the surgery, his lymph nodes showed enlargements. On further tests, it was diagnosed as Hodgkins Lymphoma. He underwent surgery and chemotherapy as a part of the treatment. After surgery, he was paralysed for a year. He was very blessed to have supportive family and friends around him. He also went for a 24 hours straight car journey trip during his recovery, for which he received the India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records.

While putting on her swimsuit top during her honeymoon, Rach DiMare noticed a lump on her breast. She immediately got an appointment scheduled, and after further tests, the doctors found out that she had four tumors—invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer. It was two months before her 28th birthday. The whole thing seemed surreal. She kept thinking in the back of her mind; they must have messed up with her results with someone else.

She did neoadjuvant chemotherapy, chemo before surgery, and bilateral mastectomy. She didn’t realize how much pain she would be in after surgery. She couldn’t go to the bathroom alone and couldn’t walk. Breast reconstruction looked great, but it just didn’t feel like her own body for her. Everyone made comments, “At least you got a free boob job.” Sadly, she had no choice. She likes to use the word thriver. She is a successful fashion Vlogger(rdsobsessions.com) and currently living happily with her husband and her little man in Chicago, Illinois.

Tina Montague became the Founder of Cancer Care Company in 2007. She worked alongside her daughter Stacey, her senior carer. In December 2015, things took a tragic turn when Stacey was diagnosed with terminal melanoma. It was a stark reality to Tina and Stacey, as they were so well trained and informed in terminal illness that they both knew the only outcome.

​Tina continued to run Care Comfort Company throughout Stacey's short battle with the invisible killer ravaging her body. Tina supported her at home as long as she could. She fulfilled any dreams she could manage as Stacey's condition deteriorated. Including an entire white wedding within ten days and a honeymoon night a week later. She walked to the car to get there and was carried out by her new husband.

Over the weeks, Tina, Tina's husband and Stacey's husband, took shifts beside this beautiful, wonderful, Kind daughter, wife and mother, aged just 28, with a newborn baby and toddler to leave without their mummy and watch her go it together helpless to stop this living nightmare when she took her final breath on 5th June 2016. Tina was devastated and lost in this new life without Stacey. Her new reality, which she had never envisaged and could barely face. Terry Tucker was diagnosed with rare form of melanoma that appeared on the bottom of the feet or the palms of the hand in early 2012. He was a high school basketball coach at that time. One day his callus broke open right below the bottom of his toe. So being a coach, he didn't think much, but after a few days, when it didn't heal, he went to his foot doctor. In the X-ray, a cyst was detected, which got removed, but pathology reports detected cancer. By that time, his cancer had metastasized to a lymph node in his groin. He was treated at the world-renowned MD Anderson Cancer centre. He had two surgeries to remove the tumour, and after he healed, he was put on a weekly injection of interferon to help keep the disease from returning. The interferon gave him flu-like symptoms. This misery went on for over 1,660 days. One thing that Terry learned during all the pain and suffering is that you have two choices. You can either succumb to the debilitating discomfort and misery or learn to embrace it and use it to make you a more robust and better human being. He chose the latter.

Cancer made me stronger. Shruti is a postgraduate student in physiotherapy. She is also a Hodgkin’s lymphoma survivor. She was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma. cancer in 2019. She underwent 12 chemotherapy sessions and today she is here with us cancer free sharing her journey.

Priyambada Pani was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1996 when she was 37 years old. She didn't have any symptoms initially, but after she visited her friend, she learned that after the age of 35, women should do self-examinations and tests. One day she noticed a lump in her breast and then got tested, but the reports got delayed due to 1 month, and her tumour progressed eventually. She says that her brother is an oncologist, so luckily, her treatment got started early. She tells everyone to live their life to the fullest and have faith in God. She went through 6 rounds of chemotherapy and 5 radiation therapy every week. Priyambada says that cancer made her more courageous. She has started her boutique now, which makes her feel happier.
