The motivation and inspiration for me as a caregiver to be positive and strong came from my mother, the cancer fighter and survivor. Despite the fact of being diagnosed with ovarian cancer at stage 3C at the age of 51, she was so strong and positive. Her six months of treatment gave me so much inspiration to hold on to rest of my life.

It all started in 1992-93. She went to the doctor for her checkup, where he did her FNAC. The doctor then did her surgery. After the surgery, she ignored it and started living her life. In 2019, the tumor grew in size, so she underwent chemotherapy and got radiation done. They inserted the chemo board inside her during the chemo session and got them removed in 2020. She is now in the recovery period. She has faced a lot in her life. First, cancer, then her husband leaving her, and then her father passing away. She understood the reality of the people. Even after all this, she is a positive and happy lady with full of positive vibes around her. She had a healthy lifestyle because of her father. Therefore, she didn't face any difficulty while switching to her new diet. These lifestyle changes made her have fewer side effects from chemotherapy in her body. She motivated herself and her family too. Currently, she is just taking medicine and is in the recovery process.

In 2019, Deepa Rachel felt a lump in her breast. She went to see the gynecologist. Gynecologist suggested her ultrasound and the reports showed fibroma. In March 2020 she again felt the lump in her breast but because of covid she decided to go in July. In July, the reports showed that the size of the tumor has grown three times. The doctor asked to go for 4 chemo first and then the next 4 chemos. They went ahead with the treatment and after the chemo she went for surgery and now she is under revision. She didn't have much side effects from chemo. She went through the journey happily. She just goes for a follow up now. Both her husband and children were strong. Her children were small but still she was able to manage everything and create a balance.

She says, " Don't let it get into you." Cancer doesn't mean you will die.
