We spoke with Prof. Guillermo Velasco PhD from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Madrid, Spain at the IACM Cannabinoids in Medicine conference 2019 in Berlin, Germany. Prof. Velasco outlined the promising pre-clinical and clinical evidence supporting the use of cannabinoids to kill several different types of cancers through autophagy (self-cleaning of cells) and eventual apoptosis (programmed cell death).
