Our Prime Minister has run away from his responsibility and is hiding out until January 27 to “reflect on his own future as leader” as the Trump 25% tariff freight train hits Canada on January 20. The Trudeau finance minister dropped a scathing resignation letter blaming him for the financial issues facing Canada and for misleading Canadians, on the day she was supposed to table and read the budget, throwing Trudeau’s government into chaos and Canada’s future into uncertainty. Trudeau adjourned Parliament to hide from the crisis, a crisis which is existential for Canada’s economy. I can’t take it anymore. Trudeau needs to call an election immediately, but he won’t do that because he thinks only he can save Canada.

Meanwhile, Doug Ford, Ontario’s premier, is the apparent spokesman for a herd of Canadian premiers who have stepped into the political vacuum to deal with the USA. Just wait till Tom Homan discovers the Doug Ford history with illegal drugs, as reported by the Globe and Mail. What will happen to Ontario then?

The US is rightly focused on the importation of illegal drugs and Doug Ford is not the person to be negotiating ANYTHING around that file for Ontario or for Canada.

Christmas is a hard time for many, especially those who have just given up drugs or alcohol. If you have nothing, there will likely be a good Christmas dinner, for free, somewhere in your community. If you can afford it, give back to your community with time or money. I talk about how terrifying it was to be newly sober at Christmas in 1989, and how Christmas 2024 is completely different.

We must stand up for our own country as Canadians. We must stand up for our interests and businesses. Those Canadians who think we are better off becoming the 51st state are traitors and should leave Canada now.

The Trudeau government has failed us, they claim Trump’s new tariff scheme and annexation is a joke and not real. They are lying to us.

Canadians must prepare now for the next US government and we must get on the same page as a nation to strengthen our hand. Time is running out.

Canada needs a functional post office. Canada Post is still on strike and this has ruined Christmas for many artists and small Canadian businesses.

I think much of the recent turmoil in the US political system and the re-election of Trump is a result of the collapse of Hollywood and its myth building and storytelling capacity.

Hollywood was a factory that inspired patriotism with national stories and symbols. It projected the appearance of US dominance to the world. It was cultural industry that plastered American flags throughout, even though many of the movies were actually filmed in Canada.

Canada needs to use our own truly excellent national symbols and capacity to enhance our culture and unite us as a country. Canada must start investing in our art and culture to grow national pride.

My two week effort to drive the red squirrel out of the attic has failed. I've tried blasting club tracks at him through JBL loudspeakers and peppermint oil spray. Harry thinks it's Ibiza.
