Coach Camp and Derrick are finally back together at SRP Studios after missing a week—and naturally, things immediately go off the rails. They discuss mysterious gifts, “unicorn” Saturdays, apartment life at The Magnolias in Hernando, rapidly multiplying rent prices, and the possibility of Zach Camp becoming the newest neighbor.
Then things take a turn into The Prostatectomy Chronicles, as Derrick provides another update on his recovery, including clotting, trouble urinating, an ER visit, a CT scan that basically said “looks fine,” and his desperate quest to get some actual urologist attention. Pelvic-floor PT also makes an appearance, with the strategy changing from “make it stronger!” to “EVERYBODY RELAX!” thanks to a hypertonic pelvic floor.
Meanwhile, Coach is having his own personal crisis: a five-plus-year DAILY running streak is staring down the barrel of knee surgery. With an MCL repair and arthritis cleanup on the schedule, Coach is more concerned about losing his streak than the fact that someone is about to rearrange his knee. Add in some pre-op communication frustrations, and you've got one stressed-out runner.
The guys also celebrate the REAL Cannonball anniversary, talk about closing on a lake house, senior-year school changes, some “pleading the Fifth” news, answer listener questions, and somehow end up discussing an absolutely glorious Ambien text.
It's another episode featuring surgery, real estate, running, pee problems, questionable medications, and two grown men trying to make sense of life.
Basically… Cannonballing Life.
