Many pre-PAs are bound by location and can't apply to PA schools outside their geographical area. The challenge to this is that instead of applying to PA schools they are already competitive for, they have to tailor their application specifically to the PA schools in their area. This can be a huge obstacle for many pre-PAs, wasting tons of time and money applying to PA schools they aren't very competitive for, yet not being able to apply outside their local area.
