If you have been to Hong Kong and speak a bit Cantonese, you'll know what I mean... at markets you won't be surprised to hear people call you leng nui or leng jai. Equivalent of saying "my love" or "darling" just so people feel happier. (maybe with a purpose?) It's not exactly flirting, just having some fun. You get the idea. Try to say call people leng jai/ leng nui out of nowhere and I'm sure you'll make them smile!
