Many places around the world are familiar with moirologists are actors hired to grieve at funerals and wakes. This profession may be the culture in many parts of the world but not the norm in Jamaica. The aim of the moirologist is to increase the number of funeral participants, provide new faces on the spot, display enhanced support for the deceased, and help people cope with the loss through the expression of grief. Dr. Canute White had coined the term self-aweirdness in 2020 as he started his book called ‘Weird People Started: The art of self-aweirdness’. He believed that “Life is about people. Each of us was born and become life around, between, beside, and among people. People, you started to realize…were weird people. Including you” The book will become officially available in 2022. Self-aweirdness is defined by Dr. White as “the mental state of being aware of all aspects of weird behaviors that you have or continued to exhibit and taking responsibility for these behaviors.” Therefore, self – ‘aweirdness’ is not only about knowing that you are weird but also about being comfortable with your weirdness. So, the COVID-19 pandemic may be labeled as the mother of all challenges during our lifetime. It had taught us many things. I shared several ways in which we may use our pandemic experiences to build resilience through our personal life's challenges with several male students at the Montego Bay Community College.

Jamaica is the home of reggae music and by extension reggae artists. The population of Jamaican reggae artists can grow rapidly on an island where many youths view the music industry as the sector for good financial earnings and fame. Who are some of these young and vibrant behind the unsung artists? What do they have to offer the reggae music consumers? Why do they choose music? How will their lyrics benefit the listeners/society? What are the general plans for these artists? Where do people find them?
