Speaking to Nghamula Chauke about the impact of withholding intimacy amongst couples, Marriage counsellor and Psychologist Dr Jack Mashiapata encouraged couples to have honest conversations, be open and trust each other when it comes to intimacy matters. He says sometimes what is perceived as intimacy withdrawal might actually translate to a much deeper issue which might be attributed to an illness or mental problem. Dr Mashiapata adds that it is also important that couples do seek professional help as and when the need arises.

Health Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi has expressed concern over the lifestyle habits that South Africans are accustomed to. Speaking to Nghamula Chauke on his reaction regarding the Statistics South Africa report that diabetes is now the number 1 leading killer in South Africa, Dr Motsoaledi said people are leading unhealthy lifestyles where they no longer prefer to cook healthy meals adding that most prefer fast foods and junk meals. He said back in the days, a lot of black Africans were not prone to lifestyle diseases because of the food they preferred eating.

The commission for Gender Equality has held an imbizo aimed at looking at the scourge of teenage pregnancy in South Africa. Speaking to Nghamula Chauke, the CGE Commissioner Mulalo Nemataheni said the numbers are skyrocketing and serious interventions have to be implemented. She says KZN remains the most affected province thus far.

The Executive Mayor of Polokwane municipality Councillor John Mpe has apologised to residents under the municipality who have been affected by power outages. Mpe says he does acknowledge that people deserve better services and a quick response to such challenges like power outages. He says there are unfortunately some incidents that are beyond the control of the municipality as they are nature related like storms and floods. Councillor Mpe was responding to the statement by the Democratic Alliance where the party's councillor Pretorius said that they will write a letter to the municipal manager Thuso Nemugumoni to demand action regarding the persistent power outages. The department of Employment and Labour in Limpopo has deported a number of undocumented foreign nationals who were found working on the Polokwane Hospital site. Speaking to Nghamula Chauke, the department's Principal Inspector for Occupational Health and Safety Bumani Maswanganye said what is concerning as well is that some subcontractors are allegedly violating labour laws that include failing to provide adequate personal protective equipment, paying below the prescribed minimum wage and failing to issue employment contracts and payslips.

Lepelle Northern Water has assured residents that the Giyani Water Treatment Plant is fully operational, and refurbishment work is continuing despite recent disruptions caused by a group of former workers protesting over alleged unpaid wages. Speaking to Nghamula Chauke,  Lepelle Northern Water spokesperson Joe Makhafola dismissed claims that the former workers had not been paid for 7 months and clarified that the workers were employed by a subcontractor to the main contractor and their contracts have since been terminated.

The South African Federation of Trade Unions says it is saddened by the exclusion of organised labour representatives in the National Council on Gender-Based Violence and Femicide. The council was appointed by President Cyril Ramaphosa and it is mandated to provide strategic leadership on the elimination of gender-based violence and femicide in South Africa. Speaking to Nghamula Chauke, SAFTU's Nontobeko Luzipho who is the Deputy General Secretary said they do not believe that those who have been appointed have enough knowledge of how women are victimised in the workplace and they hope that the President will reconsider his decision.

Employees of the University of South Africa have reached a breaking point due to intense workload and other unfavourable working conditions at the institution. This has been revealed by a survey conducted by Solidarity which says it has called on the government to urgently intervene. Solidarity’s Anique Niemand who is the organisation's Network Organiser for Professional Sector has told Nghamula Chauke that some employees are already suffering from mental breakdown and one of the solutions that can be implemented is to have the institution providing extra support to lessen the workload on employees.

The Winter initiations season has claimed 43 lives of initiates. The Deputy Chairperson of the Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Rights Commission George Mahlangu spoke to Nghamula Chauke and said that cases vary per province from initiates who died from dehydration while others were part of illegal initiation schools which were non-compliant with safety regulations. Mahlangu says the commission has launched an independent investigative mechanism, known as the Section 7 Committee, to investigate the deaths and ensure accountability for any violations linked to the initiation season.

The South African Social Security Agency in Limpopo has admitted that there was a time when its internal systems were compromised and that progress has been made to ensure that there are no corrupt activities by its employees moving forward. This conversation comes after the agency released a media statement informing the public that  four officials from the Nebo Local Office in Sekhukhune have been dismissed following their alleged involvement in fraudulent activities amounting to R33 million in social grants.
